Correct.. lol.. not much exposure down this way. Garcia was 3rd in goals scored this year. Allard and Massa from Mccracken.. Mccracken pulled upset to win region and had zero players on R1 first team. Massa lowest GA average on first region, and they played decent schedule except for the required district games. Not quite state leading stats but climbing. The best thing R1 has going for it is sports writer for Paducah Sun, Mike Stunson. Tremendous job. Just need to get exposure throughout the state.

I am not saying STATE top 5 for all of these, but worth mentioning in Western KY. Brian Wilhelm, Calloway; R. Garcia-53 goals Graves; GK T. Massa, J. Allard, Mccracken.

Is this all state honor or all tournament? Also is there a complete list somewhere? Congrats to those selected. And thanks for any info I can get.

I am not from the region those schools are, but a western region. There are at least 3 this end of state with all Region team; although, no banquet. For us, it's more about recognition. We have excellent local coverage but for our kids to get noticed statewide, they need all they can get. I agree kids on a less talented team could be named, but when you have larger number of kids from much less successful teams, it's frustrating.

First region had no players on first team from winning team. Not sure they were first team, but several players from a few schools who didn't even play in regional tourney, like 5 -7. I know stats aren't everything but they should mean something.

Totally agree. This list generally does not represent all the best players. Not saying a great player from a horrible team shouldn't make list, but it should be rare. Having players from those teams every year diminishes the award.

Oh I see what you're saying. I'd rather not have false sense of security from clock then when I'm waiting for time to be called .. lol

So no stoppage time? Our team played regional game where about 3 minutes were added to each half. I am specifically noted time when clock stopped at 2 minutes. We played those two plus 3 in 2nd half.

1 goal; 2 PKs and some nice saves by keeper Trevor Massa to limit game to 3 - 0 score.

Greenwood wins 5 - 4. Last minute goal ref said crossed goal line. Looked like it may have been saved by defender first.

Agree. That's why I credited defense. Every player has important role and it's a joint effort.

That's fine. I wasn't really looking to get favorites, just wondering how teams had fared. Difficult path when multiple ranked teams are also same regions.

Really? Okay. The way I read it there were some things go that could be compromised but not lights or length. I understand if it's maybe 10 yards. There are a couple I have wondered about. One specifically I think would be considerably shorter. I thought they would maybe have the original school host but use another schools facility. I realize that would be complicated too. I feel like it's a big advantage to that home team being used to playing on such a small field. Of course everyone will play on the same field but still... I'm kind of a rule follower. Rules are rules.

Most, if not all Region 1 have soccer only field. Additionally McCracken lined turf football field to serve as additional soccer field.

But whose job is it to make sure it's in compliance? I think this may be first time this facility has been used as regional site.

Does anyone actually verify that a field is of adequate size and has adequate lighting? Several fields in Region 1 are on the small side. Is distance measured back of net to back of net or front?

How about submit your suggested players ... with some kind of justification. No more than 5 players. Maybe in a new thread though
