Can we not include the whole state? A look at khsaa stats shows there are several players from far Western KY.

I think those are the only two. Of course you have the All A which encompasses more sports. There was a strong push last year or so, primarily headed by baseball, to classify other sports, but obviously it didn't pass.

Have clubs been able to field teams in this age bracket..outside of the larger clubs? Are there any in this age still looking for players?

Thanks. And I understand we're in the same seasons now. I have just seen several instances of Basketball coaches, then baseball has the PBR group that hosts showcases fairly local and I have ever seen HS host their own combine type event for local athletes and invite coaches in. Seems like soccer could benefit from same. I really was wondering if those events happened in other parts of the state, but just not in the Western part.

I have noticed several tweets on my time line from HS basketball coaches saying how coach so and so came to our workout to watch out team. Does that ever happen in soccer? Do any hs invite coaches to come watch workouts, practices?

Agree. And our teams needs a chance to play that level consistently.

Our team from West Ky is in that position of having to travel to face the toughest comp. There are a couple teams this end of state, but we have gone to MO and scrimmaged teams there, one being top ranked team, used Bluegrass games to play tougher teams and played 3 ranked teams during Purples Classic. We have to basically accept that to play top teams more often, we have to go to them.

This schedule was just brutal. Boys teams playing at 9 pm then again at 8am. The girls seemed to play earlier on Friday and then later on Saturday. It's true all the teams that played the late/early schedule had the same disadvantage, just wish it could have been spread out. After game, getting back to hotel etc boys prob had 5 hours sleep. Congrats to winning teams, but whew it was a rough schedule.

You know I saw that score later! Holy cow.. lol.. I just figured maybe they reached gentleman's agreement to let strikers pad their stats. J/k.. sounds like it was fun game. Garcia was one of the top scorers last year. Adam's might have been on list too. I just don't recall offhand.

Marshall got the win again. Marshalls awarded PKS first half. Kicked wide but ref said goalie came of fine early and gave them 2nd kick. Back and forth game. Final 4 - 3

Marshall @ McCracken. Should be intense but hopefully entertaining game. A large portion of both starting rosters played together on club team the last few years. Marshall, the traditional power vs a McCracken team that's looking to show their emerging program talent.

That one was a little surprising. St.M is a 1A school. Their offensive strategy is basically to play defense. PT has a new coach this year and a somewhat inexperienced team. So kind of surprising but not shocking. StM will start All A today and PT takes on McCracken Thursdsy. So we'll see how the week progresses.

Sounds like a good win. Daviess plays some of the Region 1 teams and common opponents I think. Graves, McCracken Madisonville. Def worth keeping eye on.

If you're Twitter users, @MIKE_stunson and @dreamarlowe85 have great coverage. They cover all of Region 1. Also a couple of the school have specific soccer accounts. As for tonight's game, Marshall seems to be handling PTHS easily. 4 -0 at half.

Mccracken at St. Mary was rained out yesterday. Today Marshall will travel to Paducah Tilghman. Should be interesting game. PTHS has new coach a some young players.
