Teams to watch this end of state? Hopkinsville and Calloway both made it past regional last year and return strong teams. Graves has solid returning team. Traditionally Marshall has been strong. Mccracken on the rise? Thoughts?

I'd love to see more WKY Soccer talk in this forum. Sadly, I'm not the one to provide much (any), but I'd love learning more about the soccer being played down there. I did have a Fraternity Brother at WKU who had been a Marshall Co. soccer player way back in the day, so I know they have historically had a nice program.

Mccracken at St. Mary was rained out yesterday. Today Marshall will travel to Paducah Tilghman. Should be interesting game. PTHS has new coach a some young players.

Have to agree with MTG here. Would love to hear more about W. KY soccer but not much chatter about it on here.

If you're Twitter users, @MIKE_stunson and @dreamarlowe85 have great coverage. They cover all of Region 1. Also a couple of the school have specific soccer accounts.

As for tonight's game, Marshall seems to be handling PTHS easily. 4 -0 at half.

That is a surprising result. The field appears wide open statewide this year from these early results with the possible exception of Trinity given their shellacking of Highlands but I'd be surprised if they are that far ahead of the field at the end of the year.

Sounds like a good win. Daviess plays some of the Region 1 teams and common opponents I think. Graves, McCracken Madisonville. Def worth keeping eye on.

Daviess County has a very good team this year with 12 seniors. They should be the best team in the 9th district followed by Owensboro, Apollo and Owensboro Catholic.

The 3rd region is pretty weak outside of the 9th district so look for DC to come out of this region.

While I love a WKY Soccer thread and discussion, each game needs its own thread.
