Yeah I looked up from the spike with 1 second left on the clock, but the officials didn't blow the play dead til it was all zeros. Right call to put a second back on, IMO. -
I thought I might've just misunderstood the way that penalty should've been enforced, or it wasn't marked off as much as it seemed, but they added 10 yards for a defensive holding call to the end of the play on the Danville pass late, right? Shouldn't that have been either the catch or the hold, or have I just got that wrong? I'm familiar with that white hat, not sure if it was the same crew I'd seen him with in the past. Needless to say, this game was par for the course for him. Seemed they were quick to the flag on those unsportsmanlikes for both teams, as well.

Bartleson for Danville changes this game from a 3-4 TD win for Somerset to the battle that it was. Hats off to that young man.

Bartleson for Danville is a monster on defense.

Jumpers are just being way more physical than Danville right now and the Ads are not reacting well.

Others are doing this better than me. I'll jump back in if updates get slow.

3 and out for Somerset. On the punt ball hits a Danville player and is recovered by Somerset around Danville's 20. Sheron takes the next play in on a QB scramble. Somerset 14 Danville 0 5:22 to go in the 1st Quarter.

Class 2A Playoffs: Danville at Somerset

I don't think he's hurt. He dressed last week just didn't play. Looked like they were just trying to get Ham some minutes in case we need him later. I doubt Bruner will be back this week though. -
Winningest Football Teams in KY High School
Chet Manley replied to Riddellsize8's topic in KY Football (High School)
Fun fact: Highlands, Male, and Mayfield are second, third, and fourth in the country, respectively, in all time wins. Given how the #1 team in the country, Valdosta (GA), has been less dominant in their recent history, all of these teams could potentially pass them up in the next 5-10 years. -

2A Playoff Bracket (Home Field Advantage)

Danville had to travel last year for the semis. I guess the cross-bracketing couldn't happen without someone drawing the short straw. -
Grundy is back, which should help the offense. They really just need to trust their run game and stop trying to put too much pressure on the young QB and they will get more out of the offense. Probably not going to light up the scoreboard, but it will carry them along. To answer the question of the thread though, Somerset should make it to the Semi-Finals. Once they get there though they are more than likely going to be playing the winner of CAL/DeSales which is a tall task for anyone. It will be a home game in the semis at least.

Somerset, Danville, LCA and Middlesboro are district 7, not 6. They would not meet district 4 until the semis this year. District 6 is Newport, NCC, Covington Holy Cross, and Lloyd. If I'm not mistaken, it's D4 v. D6 and D7 v. D8 in the East regionals this year. So the Somerset v. Danville game, while still important, is not as dire as if we had a potential 1st round matchup with DeSales or CAL on the line. -
It's over already?
-
Jumpers need to get healthy fast if they hope to beat Raceland, Danville, and LCA. That said, several guys stepped up and made plays tonight after Stayton went down with the ankle injury early in the first quarter. Great game overall by Somerset.
-
Word is it is an ankle for Stayton, not a knee. So some slight relief.
-
Nope, that takes us from hurting to crippled, for sure.
