You are indeed a master of your craft sir. Sarcasm is definitly an area you excell in. I can appreciate that for I also love to use sarcasm. I think these two will work well together. Once again Hinson has some good assistants around him to give his players the best chance to win. There will not be any ego issues here.

Bracken only played 1 best of 5 all season. But thanks again for telling us how superior Scott is over the region. Best of luck to all the semifinalists for some of them getting this far is a great accomplishment. No matter what happens after tonight each of these teams have had a helluva season. :thumb:

It all goes back to that sense of entitlement if your are Mason Co. All the smaller schools are supposed to bow down. We all know Mason will be the front runner year in and year out, but for the past 3 years and probablly the next 2 they arent so clear cut favorites and weather they admit it or not it is frustrating for them to be in this situation. As 8th region warrior said in a couple more years they will be back on top. But with Hinson in control of things at Bracken the gap me be narrowed quite considerably for many years to come. IMHO

I see them as 3rd in their district and pending the outcome of the draw could make it to the region.

Im with Opie why wait till your senior yr to try out? Why not have been on the team this whole time? Could have enjoyed the Bach years and contributed as well may have even helped Augusta 2 yrs ago when they were serious contenders for the Region. Had MoCo on the ropes just ran out of time.

I agree with this 100%. Not that it's a bad thing more kids getting along. But I think it waters down old bitter rivalry games. I think the AAU circuit is the main contributor to this because all the kids are playing summer ball together and building friendships which is great but takes away from the high school game a little. Hard to get that killer mentality when your good friend from the summer team is "D"ing you up.

It was better back in them days for sure. I wouldnt consider Bracken and Pendleton rivals anymore. Just does not have the feel of a rivalry game sine they were put in different districts. But back in the day man it was brutal PC hated BC, and the feeling was mutual for the BC folks about PC. Another good district was the Mason Fleming district. Several great games. Going back even even farther to when Maysville and Tollesboro were still in action. Man those were some good times.

This is correct!! They had some very good teams in the mid to late 90s and had a decent streak in the early 2000s.

I never said they wasn't the best team and I never said they weren't the heavy favorite. On paper they should win in a landslide. I'm one to cheer for underdogs. That's just who I am. A good underdog victory story is way better that a favorite dominating story. Doesn't the gate money get divided amongst all the participants like in basketball?

That is the nature of the beast. If you want seeding you have to play all your district opponents at least once. I prefer twice a season. Each team should play each other home and away.

One things for sure it will be a good tournament. I am with you on the seeding, but unfortunately that won't happen anytime soon I am afraid. Last I checked Bracken and St. Pat voted for seeding while Mason and Augusta voted for the dreaded draw. Reason for that is in Augusta's case they will take their chances and hope to stay away from Mason County in the first round. For Mason County they don't want to have to dedicate 6 games for seeding. Not to mention they don't want to have to travel to Augusta or St. Pat to play a game. They feel those games would be better served against bigger opposition than for district play. I guess they could forfeit their district games and take the 4 seed. So they wouldn't have to schedule district games. Personally I think all district should seed and I believe all but 3 in the state do with two of the three that don't being in the 10th region.

I agree that the past is the past and working to get better is the only way to correct it. With that said I did not run down those kids all I did was point out the obvious reason to their lack of success last season. The only time I used a kids name was in praise. As for what those kids tweet each other thats outta our hands and as long as they dont make it too personal I dont have a problem with it. Use it as a motivational tool. You seem like a down to earth realistic fellow Gomer so I know we can agree on most points in this thread. But to say i am talking down to the kids because I point out what they did or didnt do isnt really a fair statement on your part. Hope you are right on the coaching standpoint, because i believe a winning attitude starts at the top and filter down to the players. And that is one thing the boys at Bracken have is great coaching and a bench full of positive winning attitudes.

Well this is a thread about 2016 10th Region Correct? And the OP was pretty antimate about the Mason Co Royals Making the state this season. I cant see that as a reality until they can win their district. Its extremely difficult to win a region as a district runner-up. Their toughest competition next season in their District will be Bracken correct? So with basically the same team returning for both schools those games that were played 5 moths ago are the latest games and best information we have to form an opnion. Unless these two played some orginized baseball this summer that I dont know about those games are all I got to go on. If I am mis-spoken on anything I have posted then plese tell me where and I will correct it with my sincerest applogies. Im not proclaiming Mason Co will not win their district all I am trying to say is until the beat Bracken they will be #2 in their district. Their play in the district championship game last year (basically the same team coming back) was not the play of a team that will make a run in their district this season let alone the State. The 39th from a baseball standpoint will always be a 2 horse race. So both BC and MaCo will be in the region every year the real question is which will be the district Champs. One thing about it Mason if they dont win their district with the pitching that is graduateing this year it will be tough sailing for the next couple years. Dont mean to get people all amped up, I just try and put out the information I have available to me. They have plenty of capable players over there great ace pitcher and some decent bats, so I dont know what the situation is in Maysville. Maybe coaching?

Wow OK then. Didnt mean to get your feathers all ruffled there. I was just implying that although a extreme long shot anything could happen.
