PBR....love em....but not everyone has the time or money to get recognized in that way. But the point is well taken.

You don't get to 8-0 throwing gunshot fastballs and nothing else. 8-0 is a big number for a high school season don't ya think? It's just an indicator...I agree. I am certainly not a novice when it comes to pitching. I talk to coaches....and you can immediately tell if they are internet vs real experience knowledge-based on pitching. They know the buzz words and lingo but no clue how to really teach it or feel for any aspect of pitching. This goes for former position players....former catchers are just straight up buttholes (love those guys).

In answer to questions: 1. Helped lead his team to State Tournsment. Pitched in relief in State against eventual state runner up Campbell Co. One scoreless inning. 2. Does have movement and throws breaking ball for strikes. 3. Everybody doesn't have mid-80s talent. Been around and seen many who evidently need to buy a new radar gun. Mid 80s is very, very good velocity.....still today. 4. The kid battles, adjusts, and knows how to pitch under pressure. I am not saying he would be the ace with any nearby program immediately,. There are many schools in KY that simply aren't very good at their level. Might want to take a look at their "big-time" status when it comes to recruiting quality players....not just those with no-brainer numbers and velocity. Any fool can recognize that talent. In the end, Logan is a quality pitcher that could definitely succeed at the NAIA level. ..maybe NCAA D-2. Might even progress better...who knows. This radar gun, statistical style of recruiting will get ya beat. You have to think outside the box to really know how to put together a championship winner. And for schools who haven't won ever or in a long while.....drop the "big-time" attitude when you recruit. Nobody wants to play for that kind of program. They missed a very good player here in my humble opinion.

Unbelievable. Ohio County senior pitcher Logan Eaton went undefeated 8-0 and isn't signed collegiately. As one of the best in the 3rd Region, Wow is all I can say. This kid is solid. Low to mid 80s and fills up the strike zone. And I can absolutely guarantee that he projects much better. Plus....Academic All-State and excellent young man. Talk about overlooked....SMH at those who evaluate talent.

Bowling Green in what some might call an upset. Probably the best coaching staff in the state.

Upper bracket has the most well-known teams. Excellent...successful. State tournament baseball....one bad inning and it can be over. Too close to call

This is going to be a good one. Both teams have had a long state tournament drought. Both have excellent pitching. Gonna have to give a slight....very slight edge to Ohio Co

Excellent pitchers....Ohio Co has its work cut out for them. Ohio Co has a pretty good staff as well. Both teams got a good draw.

The game is the game....develop players and your team....and play to win. Regardless of competition level, that has to be the goal of any baseball program. Of course, at the high school level, it depends on how the school views it athletic program goals. I prefer a fiercely competitive nature in an athletic program....I have always believed that kind of approach led to the best result on and off the field.

Don't be surprised if Owensboro Catholic makes a run. They can play.

Headed to the PG WWBA National Championships 16U July 10 and PG World Series 15U in late July (with their 2018 best). That's the info I have, but wherever and however they use him within the organization is great.

I have no idea why he isn't listed....started with them in very early June....Vero Beach Classic. Then PG National Invitational in Fort Myers.....then Mizuno Wood Bat Sunshine State Championship, and most recently, Louisville Slugger Classic in Winter Haven. Their website must not be up-to-date. His teammates that have committed are Ahearn, Albert, and Doolittle

Thus far, on Gilliam's team, two have committed to Florida State and one to LSU. Its pretty early for 2017 grads and very much so for 2018 grads. If I am not mistaken, there are several former Scorps that went in the first and later rounds of the 2015 MLB draft. Carson Fulmer, Brendan Rodgers, and a few others. Its been exciting this summer for this kid.....who wouldn't be, right. I love to see great things happen to great people. This is the case.

He has been contacted about PBR about Team Kentucky, but the Futures games overlap with the PG World Series. Not sure if it can work out. In any case, you are,correct about the Scorps organization...they are impressive. His team one of their prime teams....Scorp South 2017 Prime....but he is a 2018 grad. Coach Wilkerson, who also coaches with Team USA and The Kings Academy, is absolutely been great with Blaine....among others. He has responded very well to the very high level of competition, and he is loving it and learning as much as possible. He has three more high school seasons to improve, and I am certain that he will. He is a hardworking kid on and off the field. He has the mental makeup I do believe....fierce competitor and hates to lose, but an easy-going kid to work with.

Blaine Gillim has always been one of those players that everyone who has watched play recognizes an natural, raw talent and prospect. The hard-throwing left-hander, who will graduate in 2018, continues to improve and show impressive ability this summer with one of the country's top summer programs. Playing in Florida with the Scorpions South 2017, he has proven that he is the real deal and college coaches are definitely taking notice. His numbers and scouting reports are ridiculous for a 2018 graduate.... Velocity....85-89 in a 3/4 arm slot that shows excellent movement, knockout curve with depth, and developing other pitches (change, slider) Averages near 2 strikeouts per inning (last 33 IP has 62 K) spanning his freshman year and so far this summer, given up only 9 hits facing over 150 batters Top college programs are taking notice of the youngster very early as they should...doubtful to be on the market long. Gillim projects very, very well over the next few years, It should be interesting to see where his talent takes him early in his career

Recently, UL head coach, after the gut-wrenching loss to Cal-State Fullerton in the Super Regionals, said "you experience the lows because you have won and experienced the highs"...or something to that effect. Big-game losses can only happen because of the success of your team making it there. There is one champion, but those teams that get close and come up short deserve praise and respect for a job well-done

I agree with what you are saying except for the legal action.....ending his season would have been enough of a punishment in my opinion...Iit really isn't necessary for the legal system to be involved in every aspect of human existence. Again...agree that such behavior has no place and can't go unpunished.....just disagree on who punishes and what the punishment should have been. Yes....a felony charge that could lead to serious jail time.....absurd and ridiculous

Apollo and Ohio Co were both solid, but Apollo was the better team last night....gotta give them credit for holding steady. It was just a close, well-played game. Good luck to Apollo as they move forward.

Tough draw for Ohio Co and Davies's Co. Ohio Co will match up with Apollo at 1pm and Daviess Co gets Meade Co at 4pm. I expect Hundley to throw for Apollo and probably freshman left-hander Blaine Gillim for Ohio Co. I suppose that Hicks will take the hill for Meade and Burton for Davies's Co. Both games are going to fun to watch. My prediction is two upsets....Ohio Co and Davies's Co to knock off Top 25 Apollo and Meade. Grayson against Hancock at 10am and Muhlenberg Co faces Whites ville Trinity at 7pm. My prediction would be Grayson over Hancock in the early game. I like WhitesvillemTrinity in the late game in a close one.
