All im saying is the field is weak, there isnt a single top 20 team in it. I remember when this tournament used to draw some of the best in the state.

Knott is way down this year, plus they where missing their best player who was in a car accident and will miss considerable amount of time.

This is a weak field as a whole, Bracken shouldn't have any trouble winning this tournament.

Lawrence is pretty good, and the 9th region is down as compared to last few years IMO. Still a nice win for LC regardless

I thinks its Mercers to lose, IMO they would have to have an off night to be beat.

Im not saying he didnt hold his own, or he's not a very good player, I just don't think he's a D1 talent.

Watched him with TBC elite this summer, he was their 3rd or 4th best player, led them in scoring because he led them in shots. Kid can play for sure, As far as Elite (D1) level , i dont see it. Very good player though.

I agree 100% with South being in the 15 range, and I also agree with Mercer being that good, but Meade isn't. And if you have not seen Clay this year, it will blow your mind how good Smith and Farmer are. You would be hard pressed to find 2 better guards in the state outside of Goodin and Sloan on the same team. But we will see, whoever draws the 13th this year had better lace them up tight at Rupp, cause either of those are good enough to beat anyone in the state.

Clay county and South Laurel out of the 13th is double digits better than anyone in the 3rd.

Ive seen both this year and i think game could go either way, in the end ill take Ballard by a few if they can control the tempo

Clay County falls to Cheyenne NV in the championship of the tarkanian classic. Clay had a 3 pt lead with 1:30 left to play and couldn't close it out. Turning point of game was Blake Smith picked of his 4th foul with 9:33 left in game. He was in foul trouble all game. In order to beat South you must control Taylor and make thier guards beat you, that means even if you have to triple team him and let the guards shoot open shots all night. If you guard him one on one , you will lose.

I agree 100 percent with pp92, Vegas is no differnt than any city, if a kid is looking for trouble he will find it wether it be Vegas or Louisville or Cincinnati or any city. What this trip has provided is the opportunity for alot of kids to experience something and a place that they will never experience again. It has also provided maxium exposure for Clays top level talent and a bonding experience for the team to become closer. And by the outcome of the games id say it is doing so. It never ceases to amaze me how people find the negative in everything, but then again some grip about paying taxes after winning the lottery.
