I think your break down was spot on joker. As for now he is in the weight room or gym everyday of the week as that's what's been ask of him from college's. Right now he will be making 4 or 5 visits this summer. He currently has 8 elite camp scheduled for this summer that include Costal Carolina, Brown University,UAH, Stetson University, and WKU. Air Force is also actively recruiting him. Was told this week by his dad that he will be playing AAU sporadically in between the elite camps and visits. Blake is an extremely hard worker and has a bright future IMO

I agree that recruiting happens everyday, but in most cases it's simply the parents or player believing that they are way better than they actually are. Or said player or parents are simply jealous of another kid on there team. I am witnessing it first hand right now from a player that I would have never thought it would come from. But it's his grandparents and his supporters causing most of problems. All because his teammate was voted player of the year. Instead of being happy for him, and using it as motivation to get better, they are just threatening to transfer to another school. I think without a job change and a move then all transfers should be ruled ineligible

Region 14 but he has also played against the best in the country. You don't get multiple D1 offers from power 5 conferences if you can't play.

I personally think your comment was totally disrespectful to Cam Justice and the whole Mr. Basketball process. To say that David Simmons is a better High School basketball player than Justice is just plain uneducated. Simmons is a fine player don't get me wrong and he may very well have more potential but he did not have any where near the Production that Justice had, you need to take those Rose colored glasses off there big guy.

Not sure I'm understanding your stats. Are you saying he has 1000 pts for his career or 1000 pts for this season. Khsaa has him just over 600 for this year. I could him see him ending his career in the high 2000' s . 1000 pts in a single season is very very hard to obtain.

I 100 % agree joker. Clay couldn't have played any worse in this tournament and still had a shot at winning. You can debate all you want about who has the better team. It's Clay IMO and it's not close. But the burg did what they had to do to win and congrats to them. 2 of clays starters had to have injections just to be able to get on the court.

Very nice list, that first team could compete with anyone in the state. And the best thing about it is there is only one senior on it. 13th is as loaded with talent as I've seen it in 25 years or so.

I hope Williamsburg the best at Rupp, but in all honesty just don't see them being able to compete at that level. They did beat a good Clay team but that is their only quality win the whole season. Once again good luck to the Burg I hope they win it all.

I agree they weren't any sour grapes from the Clay kids towards Williamsburg. I know some took the loss very hard. But I have seen most of the starters congratulate the Burg and wish them the best at rupp on several social media sites.

Congrats to Williamsburg, clay had a ton of open shots that just did not go down. The Burg dominated the boards and that is where the game was won. I haven't missed but 1 Game in 2 years and what you saw out of Farmer tonight is more than you usually get on the defensive end. But he can flat shoot it. He and Blake Smith tried to will the tigers to victory but the hole was just to big. These was the worst 3 games I have seen them play all year. But on a positive note Clay only loses House next year and returns 2 of the top 4 players in the region. Smith is a legitimate D1 prospect and Farmer is as good as anyone on the offensive end. They should be even better if they can develop an inside post player. The refs in this tournament hurt clay as well not saying that they where bad but there style of calling a game went against every thing clay does well. Good luck to the burg but in all honesty I believe they will get run out of the gym .

Clay co and Williamsburg played in the 1987 regional finals. Clay was led then by a Farmer and a skinny white kid that could jump out of the gym in Chadwell. Williamsburg was led by 2 brothers Cornetts I believe. This year Clay is led by a Farmer and a skinny white kid that can jump out of gym in Blake "hillbilly hops" Smith. And Williamsburg is led by 2 brothers griffths I believe. Clay won in 87 and went on to win the state title. So I'm taking clay in this one and hoping for a run at a state title. Kind of Erie though the similarities of the games.

I 100% agree about this group being special. And I think a lot of it has to do with what has been instilled into these kids, the tradition, legacy, and grit of Clay County basketball from the glory days. 3 of the 5 starters Dad's or family members where former greats of from the Hay day of CC. Then you have Marcum returning to Coach and getting Coach Keith back involved. There have been comparisons the last 2 years to how much Blake Smith and Trey Farmer remind people of Richie and Russ Chadwell. Trey is a mirror image of Richie game on the court, and Blake takes his dad Marks defensive game and combines it with Chadwells high flying offensive game it's crazy to watch. Then Wes wolfe is Eugene "Box Head" Rawlings cousin. Then you have kids like Ryan House who was told by other coaches he wasn't good enough to play for them, playing with a huge chip on his shoulder. These kids are all about winning and have a great shot at getting to Rupp for the 3rd straight year. Love to watch this team, ain't no quit in them

Blake Smith put on a show tonight in the 2nd half, he dominated the game and Knox had no answer for him, Farmer makes 2 huge buckets, and House played some of the best defense on Barger I've seen in a while. Only negative thing I can say is Farmer plays ZERO defense. He must play better D against Williamsburg.
