I dare say you have not watched everyone else play, so until it is all played at Bowling Green and they are actually crowned winners, I don't believe some of these other teams are just going to lay down.

The other schools competing in 4A may as well call their games off, cause the experts all pick South Warren to win hands down. Lots of sad teams and fans from these other Regions, knowing South Warren has already won state.

When you have a big kid with a basketball body, that by the way is very happy to play for this program, how could he not help any team. The main thing with young people is liking his teammates and being coachable. This young man seems to be spot on with both things. I trust Coach Woods getting the best out of any player.

All the talk in the whole post was centered on JC. SW, ASHLAND, and a couple more barely mentioned, but these could be in for a rude awakening when they get into facing a couple or three teams down in the 8 to 12 ranked teams. I know for a fact that WAYNE will not be an easy out for them plus a couple more.

I would bet there is some teams ranked above Wayne Co. that hopes they don't have to play them In tournament.

Well, I read thru all the posts and ranked 2nd in the poll is this little team here on the Tennessee border that is not getting much love at all. Blevins and Stearns have proved they can play this game pretty good. So with those 2 plus Baker, Gillespie, Shelton, Stinson, plus new big man Coldiron and a few others, Plus Rodney Woods at the helm, I think we might be able to compete with a few teams in this region. Tuff to replace Peyton Woods, but I firmly believe with a healthy Stearns last year, we would have played in the big show. Just My Opinion, know we all have those.

I believe this is the first time all year that after Boyle game that referees were not mentioned. All i will say if they can hold Lincoln to shooting 2 freethrows tonight they will win championship.

I agree Black Jack, was the most dissapointing performance last year. The fans and players both got caught up in predictions of how we were big favorites over Mccracken Co and it backfired. I thought ever since that game if we had drawn another region, in which we were not suppose to win or slight favorites, it may have been different. I know it certainly was not Coaches fault because i haved watched Coach Woods and his staff for 29 years and he will prepare his teams but still Young Men can get caught up in the hype just like us fans and some time it will bite you.

PP92, i believe whoever took this video shot is the same that took on last second shot. I saw it posted on facebook last night from a twitter acct. and its as clear as this game tying shot from almost same angle. There is absolutely no doubt the ball is in the air when the horn sounds. You can clearly see the ball and hear the horn. It is as clear as a tv picture. I"m not computer savvy enough to be able to put it on here. Just wish whoever took it and put on twitter would do so on here and would relieve any doubt to the ones on here saying the ball was still in his hands.

I think Mercer is the 5th best team,even though ihave only seen clips of them. Watched Boyle Co play their games on prepspin during tournament at Lexington Catholic. Maybe Mercer can stay with Southwestern, but i do know how physical SW can be and what little i have seen on Mercer, just do not believe they can stay with a physical game. I certainly hope Mercer beats them because if Wayne is fortunate to get to championship game i do not want to see SW again. They have physically beat us to death after 3 games this year. I do not believe any games will be pushovers at this time of year.

The technicals on Southwestern were players saying something the Referees did not like and one on Wayne was after Woods was held, he tried to jerk his arm loose and Mr Bottoms came running out and called technical on Woods. I was in Somerset today and picked up their local paper and seen the article was telling how one sided the free throws were. What was not told tho is the 6 technical free throws, plus several intentional fouls within the last couple minutes added to that difference a lot. .

If the 13th Region officials let the play get rough like they tend to do, i do not see Lincoln Co. beating Southwestern. I think if Wayne Co. gets by West Jessamine, which they should Boyle Co will be a much tougher game to win than Lincoln. It is a shame that only one of these top 5 teams will be able to get to the State Tour. Maybe the only other region to have as hard a road to go is the 11th, which our region will have to play.

I was on the PA and would have bet my right arm that Southwestern Player was called for Tech. foul also when they called on Woods. All Peyton was trying to do is free his arm jerking loose and did not find out till after game they only called Woods. His last two fouls he had his back turned on one of them and player jumps sideways and Woods gets called for blocking. The last one little Gover jumped sideways and when croud realized was on Woods you would have thought they had just won the game with the celebrations going on from Southwestern. Still ticks me off that early in the year about Coach Woods being unprofessional, because tonight if he was that way he would acted like the Southwestern coach does on every call. Rodney Woods is the ultimate Professional.

Wayne Co. takes down Southwestern 86-78 to win Championship with our star player anyway sitting on the bench fouled out with a quarter and half to go. Last 2 fouls on Woods plus his second one were laughable. Second foul was called a techinal for swinging his arm trying to get loose from a hold. Last 2 were called with players jumping sideways into him, but Blevins and Stearns stepped up big after he leaves, plus really good play out of the supporting cast.

You are so right Ole Kentuckian, outside of that little hiccup losing to Scott Co, which by the way beat Bryan Station tonight, these Cardinals have played pretty good basketball this last month and half. It takes a special team to go into Clay Co and win on their floor, but these young men step up so good for each other. We have 5 positions now that can score and that could make us a little more difficult to play off to help cover a shooter. I know we just went thru a stretch of 3 real good teams here and was able to come thru unscathed. This team is fun to watch when they are hitting on all cylinders.

PP92 you just do not like ranking Wayne at all. Surely Cantrall cannot be that far off every week. I think we have played a strong enough schedule to get considered in BGP top 20 but so far we fail to get there.

Thats the class of Rodney Woods. You guys played hard and well enough to win the game, but our kids deserved to win also. We certainly never shot the ball good most of the game but these kids will never stop playing no matter the score. Less teams would have quit when they got 21 points behind but in 29 years of being lucky enough to have Coach Woods at Wayne Co I have not seen one of his teams not play to final score. This cheating referees thing started last year after we played Clay Co at our place. That was one of the most physical hs basketball games I have ever witnessed. Clay came prepared to play that way cause im sure they thought we were soft. I dont have statistics but I would say the fouls were very close in number, so truth99 if you know what they were please share, and like I told you last week when we come over to your place and if we may get lucky enough to win there then will you stop your belly aching about the theft you got at Wayne Co last year. Clay is a really good team and it will take a mighty effort to beat them, but please show us same respect and I hope someway we use 13th region officials. t

I get so tired at seeing all the crying going on about wayne co getting favorable treatment from officials. whether its in our region or other regions we have to hear every win we get that referees won the game for us. Why not give these young men and their coach a little credit, they do know how to play the game of basketball and Coach Woods certainly knows how to coach, but for some when we win its referees gave it to them. There was calls both ways last night that both sides were upset, but it certainly wasnt leaning Wayne Co. Our guys are good free throw shooters, and they will try to draw fouls, which i thought was part of the game. When we finally started making shots then they wanted to guard us closer outside and then we took the ball to the basket and drew fouls. Dunbar pressed us the whole game and we had a little trouble early, and when we really turned up the pressure on them, they started making a lot of errors, so we were able to make a tremendous comeback against a really good team. So give the guys a little credit insted of referees gave Wayne the win.

Great to see the inside scoring and rebounding we are getting. I would say Ole Kentuckian you are right on with the assists, and between Baker and Gillespie id say those 2 had 20 plus rebounds plus 23 points.

You need to go back and watch the tape of that game again Truth, your guys never came to play a basketball game. They thought football season was still going on. I grant you if the refs let the game be played that way over there then you will win, i have no doubt. Our kids does not like doing pushups in practice, by committing grabbing and pushing fouls so they learn to play defense with their feet a long time ago.

Sure is good to see you post Ole Kentuckian. I usually get on BGP every night and get my daily laugh and had not seen you post for awhile. I am heart broken right now knowing Truth99 hates Wayne Co. I would never have guessed that. He mentioned last night how he felt he was at Wayne Co with the calls Clay Co was getting at Boyle. Teach those guys to play defense with their feet and likely you will not see such a difference in fouls. You will be able to get your revenge Truth99 when we come to your place this year. Hope we have some decent referrees.
