  1. I decided to see what anybody knew about smaller schools in Northern Kentucky, such as Villa, Calvary, Silver Grove, Latin, Augusta, St. Patrick, Dayton, etc. What players are there? Who has a promising season?
  2. When Bolden gets back from his injury, that will open up a lot of connections.
  3. I heard CCH looked flat out awful tonight. And I heard about them beating GCL teams over the summer so this is obviously a bad game, and I still think Cov Cath will win region. But anyway congrats to Cooper on a big win.
  4. I don't like it. Some of these kids pay a ton of money to play travel summer ball and this cuts in to their time as it ends in mid-late June.
  5. The players would love Corky, but I don't know if he would be able to hold them accountable.
  6. "We did not win the series. Baseball did." - Sparky Anderson. This was the game that saved Baseball according to Sports Illustrated.
  7. Can be active or inactive. As long as they played in 2000 or later they are good (doesn't matter how long). Some guys I like: Larkin, Jeter, Molina, Ryan Hannigan, Buster Posey, Pudge Rodriguez, Piazza, Biggio, Chipper Jones, and Brian McCann. I'm sure there a bunch more.
  8. Does anybody know anything about this conference? I think there may only be a few teams in it. I'm pretty sure Calvary is in it and I heard that a team or two may be joining it for 2016. It sounds like a small school thing.
  9. For the shutdown pitcher at CCH I think Robert Young may deserve that spot. He only had one start last year (in the high school season, he relieved a lot) but he is one heck of a pitcher. I saw him pitch in the quarterfinals of the Buckeye Elite tournament in Columbus for summer ball with the Force, and he threw a flat out gem. He threw a one hit shut out against a very good ball team. He looked straight up nasty. Also, there were scouts watching him in that game. It looks like colleges are trying to get him.
  10. Did Rob Newman make it to the Majors?
  11. Just wondering... But will Luke Maile become the first Cov Cath player to play a game in the majors? I saw a story about an old guy that got called up, but never got in, and I've heard about minor leaguers, but I didn't know about the big leagues.
  12. If I'm in the stadium, I don't care where I am, I prefer to be under a roof for protection, but I don't care.
  13. 1. Misunderstanding of what the Church actually teaches 2. False assumptions 3. Not knowing the difference between being devout and being strict 4. Porn 5. Misunderstanding what freedom is
  14. I'd keep Frazier, Mesoraco, Hamilton, Lorenzen, Stephenson, Travieso, and maybe Peña. I'm a believer in having a leader. I think that young players need a mentor. I've read books where players talk about how much easier the transition to the majors was when they had a leader. Also, if the Reds got rid of Frazier, the fan base would not be happy.
  15. Id have to see what the old guys could do before I decide if BP is the best. BP definitely makes incredible plays and makes defense an art, but I also like that he has good fundamentals and he does the little things to make sure that he succeeds. This may sound trivial, but I love how when there are two outs or no runners on that he goes down on one knee to help prevent the ball from getting away on a bad bounce.
  16. I think it's a tough comparison when you see the two completely different eras of McPhee and Philips. I'm impressed that McPhee played without a glove. Its really close though. When I started to think about it, I noticed that BP has the offensive advantage, so he may have an upper hand.
  17. C Lombardi 1B Klu 2B McPhee SS Larkin 3B Groh OF Roush OF Robinson OF Pinson/Griffey SP: Soto, Maloney, Walters, Seaver, Rijo RP: Myers, Graves
  18. Nobody picking the Nasty Boys? IMO I would take them over Chapman. Maybe not all three ahead of the Cuban Missile, but at least one or two.
  19. Pete Rose was an incredible player. I'm not trying to ruin Pete's reputation, but I think that since there is proof that he lied, then he should not be allowed in. I think Pete had problems with gambling that needed to be fixed. I'm a huge Reds fan, but I think this is what should be done.
