Eh, I guess it could be an opinion. He was a good ballplayer so you might as well throw him in there. -

Oops I didn't mean to double that. I don't know how that happened. -

One time I was at a tournament in Indiana. It was a select team tournament but the local Little league all stars were there. They obviously weren't Williamsport material, but they finished dead last. I don't know how much that says, though. Again, those kids probably weren't ready. Anyway, I still love watching Little league. -

I just wanted to see what level you all thought the LLWS teams would be in Southwest Ohio. My guess is American Gold. There are certainly some National League players (and possibly teams), but I don't think that it is a complete elite AABC type competition. For any of those who are wondering, the teams in the Little League World Series are made of all-star teams. Many of the players also play travel ball along side their Little League squads.

I just want to hear what some people like. Highlands/McCracken Cty Predictions
Aroundthehorn replied to tdyballgame's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I think the first round is mostly based on pitching. -
Did Ziegelmeyer score the winning run? Or did they have a pinch runner? I thought Ziegelmeyer scored it but I also heard that Andrew Louden ran for him.
-
Tough loss for CCH. Ruwe pitched incredible and Pangallo had an incredible catch. Hats off the Ryle and Ziegelmeyer, he did it all with his pitching and home run. A great play by the third basemen too.
-
I think for being a runner up in their district, Cov Catch got a pretty good draw. The only problem is Ziegelmeyer in the first round.

Early 9th region tournament thoughts
Aroundthehorn replied to nkyball34's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I think St. Henry will beat Ludlow. I have not seen them play, but I have heard that they are coached very well. As for the 9th region winner, I think anybody could win it. I don't think there is a favorite, because everybody has shown us some vulnerability. -
Adam Ruwe pitched the first game, Cam Pitzer pitched the second.
-
Cam Pitzer pitched 8 innings and got game-winnig RBI. Adam Piccirillo made a huge defensive play to save a run. Good job Colonels.

Dixie Heights 8 Covington Catholic 0

Dixie score 7 in the first inning, then CCH brought in Robert Young who shut Dixie down and only gave up one run the rest of the game. -

Mainly championship, but it doesn't really matter.
