One more thing to add. If a D-1 school offers you on just film. Do not go to their camp! If a schools HC calls you and offers (then they will contact your HS coach) don't go to their camp. This only gives them a reason to pull the offer. Not saying this would happen but what else do you have to show the school. Spend that time at another schools camp. Remember this cost is all on you travel camp cost. Have a back up plan! Don't rely on just one school. Offers come in bunches schools will offer just because you have an offer. Your job is to let the other interested schools know you have an offer.

Ask what they liked about the film, where do you see me playing at the next level. Would I be a player you would recruit. The key is to get them to know who you are before showing up. If they really liked the film they will respond to the questions.

FCS-- The Pioneer league and The Ivy league don't offer scholarships. I think most of the Patriot League schools just in the last few years started to offer full rides.

FCS has 63 full rides. FCS can give partials but only to 85 players. They cant give any football scholarship money to more than 85.

This is what I did. Send oit film to every D1 school Muti times to Muti coaches. I was surprised by the feed back. I didn't think they watched film emailed to them. Then I narrowed down who was very interested. Meaning they asked us to come to their camps. I then narrowed it down even more by asking them if they were willing to come to the HS and watch my son practice. The teams that came to practice are very interested. Pick 3 dream schools. Ohio State, UK and UC. Go to those camps uninvited the rest by invite only. Trust me it stinks to drive hours to a camp and the coaches put you in with the we don't think they can play kids. With the personal invite you are in with the better players. That's what you want. When teams show up to NKY from NY they really like you!!

Good luck to all the young men on their dream to play D1 football. This is the time to be sending film out and finding out intrest level if any and making a plan to visit camps with invites from the film.

That is what it takes to get your son out there playing in NKY. Offers can come from schools who have never seen you play in person. The time invested in the contact with the schools was well worth the effort. Meaning following up emails calling txt.

Sending your film to every school in America is a good idea. You think schools from NY know about NKY football?? NO!! Your NKY head coach may know a few local D1 coaches. Why only have a few options when there are over 200 D1 schools.

Good thread about how to get a D1 schorlship. looking back. The difference between NAIA d2 D3 is size speed. If you to short slow you fall into that mold. If you have size speed you get a free education. That at the end of the day is what matters.

I just found out D1 baseball only offers 11.7 schorships per team of 35 to 37 players. Does anyone know why the number is so low?? Does D1 baseball not generate money?

My son at that age played 3. Baseball football basketball. On his own he dropped baseball. Loved basketball liked football. Glad he didn't drop football because he did get a D1 schorship out of it. I know the fact he played basketball for a good AAU team and started on the HS team for 3 years helped the football recruiting.

I think for MS he was at Turkeyfoot then Beachwood?? Then started HS at Cov Cath.

I did say if you don't gain intrest go to all the camps you can! All I'm saying is find out what school likes your film. Go to those camps. If no one likes the film then go to as many as you can. It's a different experience to be invited vs not.

If you get an offer off of just film. Do not go to that schools camp. what more do you have to prove.

I would only attend camps with invites and a few dream school camps (Ohio state,UK). The rest would be by invite only. That's if you can gain interest if not go to all of them.

offers may not fall from the sky but can come from schools you had little contact with. offers can come sight unseen. Just on film evaluation.

This is actually very good info. Many people will use the word recuited with nothing more than a letter. i will go as far and say your not a recuit until you have an offer. Calls txt and personal hand written letters a good sign.

That's why i believe the JR season is the most important.

Barker got an SEC schorship and Kuntz is paying to play. Not even close...

I would also like to point out walking on isn't in the same category as a full ride. Morehead everyone walks on.

Every year in NKY only about 5 kids get D1 full rides. most kids will get offer at the D1 level in the spring before there senior season.

NKY kid with a D1 offer is great!! Love to see it. He has size. He can shoot and a great vert!! Congrats make NKY proud!!
