I'm just one that does not like a system that rewards a team for "beating up" (running up the score) on an inferior opponent. I do like the fact this year Maher will be factoring in results Vs OH teams. Arguably some of the NKY teams' toughest opponents are Summit, Anderson, and Moeller.

Agree, KCD struggled, not sure if they are young, just had a bad game, CCH caused them to look bad or a combination of all the above. Their keeper is quality, if not for him CCH would have had more. CCH does have a lot of work ahead of them, but at this point in the season who doesn't? IMO the intensity for CCH really drops off when they go to the bench, which is still often and deep. It will be interesting to see how CCH handles a very tough part of their schedule, which comes in September @ Ballard, @ Trinity, @ Ryle, @ Anderson four very good opponents, ALL on the road. Two more weeks and 5 more games before this tough stretch, hopefully they will get some things figured out by then. Last night was not perfect, but some positive things to build on.

I only saw the second half of this game, sounds each team won a different half. From my angle, behind the St Henry defense, Brossart's defense looked very soft, not sure if they were playing different combinations, trying new things or what. They put no pressure on the ball allowing easy entry passes into the penalty area and then a lot of space in the penalty area for St Henry to settle, set and shoot. St Henry's 3rd goal was a nice one. And I agree with Teemore25, Brossart had a great opportunity to tie it late, lack of finishing cost them a tie.

I wasn't there simply asking, had their been other delaying tactics by other HHS players before this situation that may have caused the center to do what he did? Similar to one player getting a yellow card in part due to numerous other teammates reoccurring fouling. I'm not an official but I believe there is something in the rule book that cover this.

This player may have fully understood the team rules and discussed traveling and playing in Nationals with her HS coach before hand. And made the decision to participate in Nationals knowing and accepting the consequences. I'm not questioning the coach, it is his/her choice to run their program as they see fit. Personally if my kid has earned, it is not given, the opportunity to participate in the Nationals, I'm fully supporting them to go for it. Playing in Nationals can be a once in a lifetime experience, something thousands upon thousands of youth soccer players never get to experience.

Difficult game to predict since it is Trinity's first real game of the season and they must travel. Hopefully the NKY team will prove me wrong, but I predict with my head not my heart. Trinity 2- HHS 0

Ventre is quality, I think it is only a matter of time before he is a starter. And I agree having him at one of the OSB spots allows Russo to move into the center of the field where his assets become even more valuable and this allows Blom to move to OSM, clearly his best position and the one spot CCH is really struggling at the moment. With these moves I think the game really opens up for CCH and Stava is most valuable/needed in the back IMO. When CCH plays Ballard, Anderson, Trinity, and Sumitt, likely their 4 toughest opponents they will need players with good technical skills and ones that can play under pressure.

I absolutely love this line, SO accurate! You only get better playing with and against better players. Sounds like at least two good games tonight between four quality teams, one in Park Hills and one in Ft Thomas. Disappointed work kept from being at either one. I hope to read more details about each game, keep it coming please.

I stand corrected. I figured fielding 3 football teams would count for over a hundred students. I stand by my compliment to the St Henry faithful, your support and school spirit is impressive!

I would agree, between the white lines this change of venue may well benefit St Henry. I was referring more to the financial benefit, assuming ( I may be incorrect) HHS will keep the proceeds from the gate and concession. The benefit of living much closer to your home venue, less traffic to fight through (this issue has already been mentioned on this thread) and the benefit of possibly having a larger "home crowd." I do compliment the St Henry students, seemed obvious there were many more St Henry students at the CCH game then actual CCH students. But it is worth mentioning CCH being an all boys HS , a large number of the student body were likely not able to attend the game due to football practice. Is it safe to say CCH, HHS, Ryle and St Henry are the top four contenders for the 9th region? These match ups between these four make for some very interesting games to keep an eye on. I think it will be much closer, 1-0 HHS.
