groinpull Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Colonels escape an upset bid by a quality Campbell squad. Stava with two goals for CCH. I believe Colon Schneider had the score for CC.
Sir! Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Colton Schneider is a nice player with great composure on the ball. I'm also a big Grant Perkins fan... he's "all in" and is very much a team player. Good job Camels pushing CCH hard. It helps raise the level of play for all involved.
Yellow Card Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Was Stava still playing CB tonight? Saw the Camels a couple times last season, with what they have coming back, I think they could be a contender in the 10th this season.

I absolutely love this line, SO accurate! You only get better playing with and against better players. Sounds like at least two good games tonight between four quality teams, one in Park Hills and one in Ft Thomas. Disappointed work kept from being at either one. I hope to read more details about each game, keep it coming please.
groinpull Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 Sorry, I had a typo, yes it is Colton Schneider. Stava started at center back for CCH but was moved up top later in the first half and he scored fairly quickly. CCH was without Griffin Lamb last night and it was a struggle offensively for them. Actually I thought that with the exception of Stephen Schutt, the CCH midfield and forwards did not look very good. Dominic Russo did get a look at center mid for CCH and seems to be a better fit. Campbell County will definitely challenge in the 10th region.
Yellow Card Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 IMO, if scoring is an issue, I think CCH would be better off with having Stava up top with Lamb. They are two different types of forwards that I think could work very well together. I would also move Russo into the midfield, either at attacking or holding, should do fine at either spot. The only problem with these moves is taking 2 players off your back line, not sure who could feel these slots.

I'd agree that both of these moves make sense and they have the bodies to plug the holes defensively in my opinion. Luke Ventre is a very solid defender and currently not starting. Stava is the target player they need up top and Russo would work well with Schutt in the midfield. My guess is based on last night we may see some of this.
gameplayedright Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Ventre is quality, I think it is only a matter of time before he is a starter. And I agree having him at one of the OSB spots allows Russo to move into the center of the field where his assets become even more valuable and this allows Blom to move to OSM, clearly his best position and the one spot CCH is really struggling at the moment. With these moves I think the game really opens up for CCH and Stava is most valuable/needed in the back IMO. When CCH plays Ballard, Anderson, Trinity, and Sumitt, likely their 4 toughest opponents they will need players with good technical skills and ones that can play under pressure.
Sir! Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Colonels escape an upset bid by a quality Campbell squad. Stava with two goals for CCH. I believe Colon Schneider had the score for CC. No credit was given to Stava on CovCath stats. Were they his goals or goals he created but officially scored as own goals? Just curious... and he should get the stats if they are his.

Just curious... and he should get the stats if they are his. You are correct that there is no credit given on CCH stats for either goal but I'm not sure why. The first goal, late in the first half was a nice strike from distance so definitely not an own goal. I really don't recall the second goal he scored to be honest but he had two.
gameplayedright Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Hopefully this will get corrected and Stava will get credit for two, well earned goals. I'm not sure how CCH or any other school handles recording offical stats these days. In the past some schools relied on the team manager which was a student, which may or may not completely understand all of the official rules. I would hope the head coach reviews these sort of things.
