Covington Catholic 4 Kentucky Country Day 0

Only saw the first half but KCD was really overmatched in this one and CCH has work to do still offensively. Execution in the final third is really lacking, the ball movement and player movement off the ball is very slow and the finishing is not there. Was surprised to see only a 4-0 final in this one. KCD looked pretty young to me.

Agree, KCD struggled, not sure if they are young, just had a bad game, CCH caused them to look bad or a combination of all the above. Their keeper is quality, if not for him CCH would have had more.

CCH does have a lot of work ahead of them, but at this point in the season who doesn't? IMO the intensity for CCH really drops off when they go to the bench, which is still often and deep. It will be interesting to see how CCH handles a very tough part of their schedule, which comes in September @ Ballard, @ Trinity, @ Ryle,

@ Anderson four very good opponents, ALL on the road. Two more weeks and 5 more games before this tough stretch, hopefully they will get some things figured out by then. Last night was not perfect, but some positive things to build on.

Agree with the comments about KCD keeper, nice player, really great kid. If not for some nice saves CCH could have easily scored a few more.

I was a little puzzled by the CCH lineup, and more so with some of the subs. Although they went with a handful of subs in the first half, Luke Ventre did not get any time on the field. When the second half started he came out at center back, Luke proceeded to have a really good half. I'm glad to see him take advantage of his chance last night, I also think he would do well as one of the starting outside backs.
