ALBORC Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Down 0-2 at the half, St Henry pulls together and scores 3 in the second half.
groinpull Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 A lot closer than I thought it would be. Any details?
ALBORC Posted August 21, 2016 Author Posted August 21, 2016 A lot closer than I thought it would be. Any details? Brossart scores right off the kick-off. Later in the half, Brossart breaks away and gets another one. Second half was like a whole different St Henry team. Very little action past midfield as the Cru was clearly on a mission. An outstanding assist from (?) set Sanders up nicely for the goal. Later, a Brossart foul in the box and Sanders makes the PK. Now the score is tied. A Crusader corner kick provides the opportunity---and Josh Meyers jumps up and heads it in the goal. Overall great Cru team play and communication in the second half. Don't know why it took 2 and 1/2 games to find it. (Feel free to add/correct names here.)

Looked like Brossart lost some gas after the Crusaders first goal. Cru had no answers for Brossart's speed up front but controlled the middle of the field in the second half not allowing any run outs. Stangs finally got a break away with seconds winding down and took a shot that would have tied the game. Congrats to St.Henrys; they turned it around with great team work and passing. Experienced team no doubt. Stangs continuing to get better.
gameplayedright Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I only saw the second half of this game, sounds each team won a different half. From my angle, behind the St Henry defense, Brossart's defense looked very soft, not sure if they were playing different combinations, trying new things or what. They put no pressure on the ball allowing easy entry passes into the penalty area and then a lot of space in the penalty area for St Henry to settle, set and shoot. St Henry's 3rd goal was a nice one. And I agree with Teemore25, Brossart had a great opportunity to tie it late, lack of finishing cost them a tie.
Yellow Card Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I was surprised that Brossart was not able to get the tie last night. I was also watching from the St Henry defensive side of the field and there were a couple of occasions that they got behind their back line but could not complete anything. It did look like St Henry was trying something new in the back, the back four was different from what I saw last week.
Teemoore25 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Brossart is just young. They'll figure it out.
Cardinal Crusader Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 The assist came from Isler. He subbed in during the first half and brought a lot of energy and hustle to St. Henry's attack. He started the second half and looked very good then as well.

Yellow Card Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Kunstek playing CB still? Yes, he has been the one constant I have seen at CB.
groinpull Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I saw the end of this game and I thought that St. Henry was playing quite a bit of their bench in the second half. Sanders and Manahan were both out if I recall the last 10 mins or so.
Yellow Card Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Manahan was out fairly early, believe he aggrivated some sort of thigh injury.
gameplayedright Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Not sure exactly which one is Sanders but if he wears the #10 he was in late. #10 was still going hard the last 12 seconds trying to score a goal.
