I am one of those who went to a small NAIA school to play football. I knew going in how hard it would be, I didn't know how time consuming it was, it's eat, sleep and breathe football that along with going to classes and that's all you do. It just didn't turn out the way I thought it would, I ended up not liking it I seen how much fun my friends were having and it felt like I was missing everything. The biggest reason for leaving is how much money I was paying, a little over 20,000 a year to go play football and I wasn't even liking it. Another big thing is playing with your high school teammates for all those years then you go play with a bunch of people you don't know it just wasn't the same to me. It wasn't like I wasn't playing either, I was playing and doing very well. it just didn't turn out like I hoped. I decided to come closer to home and go to a university to get my teaching and coaching degree. I recently got a head coaching job in the little kids league in my hometown. It'll be a great experience for me since I'm only going to be a sophomore in college and will help me learn everything I need to know. So some kids just decide the money, the time or whatever reasons it is that playing at the next level isn't worth it but I promise there are other options to being successful.

I also think Mercer county will crack the top 10 in 4A this year, Coach B is turning the program into the right direction.

Was wondering when someone would say something about that move. IMO it was a terrible move, no way you walk anybody on that team to get to arguably one of the best hitters in the region. You cannot put the bases loaded and risk a walk or a hit batter which the pitcher hit a batter already in that inning and walked a batter in the inning before. Overall I think it was a terrible move.

I'll be there every session in my same seats as usual. Hoping for a great tournament, and Go Royals!

@mcpapa yes I have seen Goodin and Sloan play last year. And ive played with Pig Williams and I know he's exicting to watch.

Haven't watched a lot of basketball outside of the 10th region this year, but like always I will be attending every game at the state tournament. Who are the most exciting players to watch amongst the field?

@maysvilleky yes pig had to sit against Campbell county in the beginning of the 4th quarter because of 4 fouls. I'm not sure how long he sat but it seemed around 3 minutes or so. He also had to come out for only a couple of possessions against Paris because his shoe string broke.

As a member of this program and basketball team in the past couple of years I couldn't be any prouder of this group for finding a way to get Mason county back to RUPP! #TNG

I see where you're coming from @RCC9 and yes a great draw obviously helps in the post season but let's be real the lady royals are 27-3 with some really good quality wins. A lot of Mason County fans are concerned and they just have to understand nothing comes easy come tournament time. As far as the prediction goes I'll take the lady royals in another close game.

Like I said in an earlier post you can't look past any team come tournament time and the lady royals are very fortunate to advance to the next round.
