I am familiar with the statisticians manual, that's why I asked you what your definition is. -

Soccerforlife, what is your definition of an assist? -

I agree with most of what you said otb84.. Scott did have some fairly tough competition, but remember they scored 20 goals and probably lots of assists against Calvary Christian and Pendleton. That really bumps up the stats... -
Did the Cov Cath coach make a decision to stop scoring on Holmes? I thought that would have been a mercy game.

Yes, Morgan is good, and an important player for Scott, no doubt about that. I didn't mean otherwise. I was just keeping it real as regards some of the competition they played. I do think Scott will win by a couple of goals. -

Assists don't really mean a lot. Some schools schools don't even record them properly. Also, if you look at some of Scott's weak competition... It's no wonder goals and assists mounted up. Just because Scott has been "the most talked about team" on this forum doesn't mean it has been all good. -
St. X was strong defensively and made it hard for St. Henry to do much up top. St. Henry had a couple of chances, but were unlucky. St. X's Dean Mock scored at about 20 minutes into the first half, mainly due to some sloppy defending from St. Henry.

Could be a tough game for St. Henry. I believe some of the squad are fighting off or getting over a virus that was doing the rounds. Fever, colds, coughs... -
St Henry/Paul Laurence Dunbar cancelled (weather/refs)

Game tonight cancelled because of "lack of refs". -
That makes more sense.

Posted on Riherds. Can that be right? Shocking result if correct.

Jealousy??! That's funny!

Typical Scott... I wouldn't expect any better at this stage.

Just saying what I saw. Sorry if you don't like it.

Three very quick goals from St. Henry in the first half, which resulted in Simon Kenton pushing everyone back and playing defensively for the rest of the game. Goals by Lannon (2) Sanders (1). I only saw two assists, one by Lannon, one by Meyer I think.

I'll go with St. Henry to win by one goal. Sometimes they play really well, sometimes there's obvious bad feeling among team mates so the game suffers. They're coming off a nice win over Louisville Male which should work to their advantage. -
Grosser (NCC) Seay (Scott ) Barton (Villa) I've seen him make some fantastic saves. Pity the team is so weak.

St. Henry goals by Lannon, Sanders, Green, Wells.

On several occasions when Cov Cath were all healthy they still had trouble scoring, and still allowed goals in when they played against strong teams. So missing five of their better players can't be used as an excuse. -
Covington Catholic/Summit Country Day (OH) Predictions

Covington catholic wins 2-0, even without some of their key players. Summit started the season with a lot of talent, but a recent shake up in the team has left them diminished. -
It was a good game. Nice decision by the St. Henry coach to keep players who normally don't start, and usually get little playing time, on the field most of the game. After the St. Henry goal Holy Cross played defensively all night. Constantly crowding the Crusader forwards. It worked for them. They succeeded in blocking several good, close chances by St. Henry. I must add, the center ref and linesmen were good last night. It all added up to what seemed like a great Senior night for St. Henry.

Judging by the quality, or lack thereof, of the refs I've seen so far this year, nothing surprises me. To say that if the ref felt the play was illegal he would have nullified the goal is just comical. The majority of center and line refs don't seem to even know the correct rules, much less follow them. It gives the few good refs out there a bad name.

Holy Cross/St Henry Predictions
WatThe replied to Yellow Card's topic in KY Boys Soccer (High School)
It's St. Henry's Senior Night so a win would be nice for them. I heard that a few regular Crusader starters are sitting out for the opening 15 mins of the game to allow players who never start to get on the field for Senior night. Nice touch.
