  1. "Bold statement..." ? Relax, I only made a simple remark about what I heard. Well done to BB.
  2. I was at work and couldn't make the game, but from what I heard St. Henry's defense fell apart.
  3. All this righteous indignation because of an "anonymous" comment on an anonymous forum about a kid possibly flopping in the box... Maybe it's time the kid, who by all accounts is almost an adult, put on his big-boy pants, and the mom stopped fighting his battles. If being called a flopper is the worse thing to happen to him this week, he'll be fine.
  4. I agree. It's fine to brag about a child, and you're right to be proud of him, but a public forum like this might not be the best place to do it. It's only high school soccer... In a few years no one will remember anyone from this graduating year.
  5. Morgan is a good player for sure, very good, but maybe soccerforlife needs to dial back a bit on the bragging. When a kid is built up so much, and made out to be the superstar of the team there will always be few people who will be happy with a result like tonight. Most people know why the result was so skewed in CCH's favor... injured Scott players, the goalie situation. I'm sure Scott will rebound again for their next game.
  6. Touchy... I wasn't aware but now that I do it explains a lot.
  7. What kind of a coach schedules 4 games in one day? That's ridiculous, not to mention dangerous for the players in terms of exhaustion and injury.
  8. Sounds like soccerforlife is Morgan's Dad or Mom... Well done to Hegerty for finishing.
  9. Darn, throwing away a lead like that against Trinity. That has to hurt.
  10. Hmm... Another PK for St. Henry... someone will get a bit of a bad reputation for falling/flopping in the box if not careful. I saw that call last night. Clearly not a PK.
  11. Morgan is a very good player. Day is an excellent player. I've been watching these two play club together for many years. Morgan has some great tricks and skills. Day has some great tricks and skills, but with an added finesse and athletism built in. Now, if both these guys were on the same high school team... Wow.
  12. Was St. Henry good, or was NCC bad? I know a lot of schools lost some very strong seniors. Considering Cov Cath beat St. H 5-1 a couple of weeks ago...
  13. I'm surprised to see that Day didn't score. Was he playing tonight?
  14. Sanders has good potential providing he passes the ball, and learns a little self control when things don't go his way. That'll come with maturity. Kunstek is one to watch too. Very good defender, and still only a sophomore.
  15. No offense or unfairness intended. I mainly know the CCH and St. Henry boys.
  16. Who else apart from Shuh, Kenny and Ballow has graduated from CCH? My mind has drawn a blank on last years roster.
  17. @soccerforlife... Agreed. The whole team played great. I mentioned some names because this is normally a High School forum...
  18. The U15s had a pretty easy draw and won finals without too much pressure. The U17s was a great match, hard fought all the way. One of the most physical, badly reffed games I've seen since the high school soccer season. The Rovers keeper is a big, 6ft 5in player, very good at his job, making several great saves throughout State Cup prelims and finals. Rovers defense fought hard in the finals, and yet again the goalie made great saves. They hoped to go to a shoot-out because of their confidence in their keeper, however when it got down to the PKs they weren't prepared for the KHA goalie who made a great save, and the 5 perfect penalty kicks from KHA. Very solid performance both weekends by Lannon and Dehner from St. Henry, and Day and Kenny from Cov Cath. Good luck in Regionals guys!
  19. Your "kind of funny" remark is a bit odd... I was referring to the general "team moves the ball well, good technical skills, plays at high level" type comments that most players get from recruiters , college coaches. Anyway, congrats to your son, Thomas More has a great program, one of the best D3 schools in the area. Good luck to the Saints on Saturday. Also, Scott's record speaks for itself, in every respect.
  20. What do you mean, "nice try"? You need to get that massive chip off your shoulder. As for your comment about people whining and complaining... Last Saturdays champ match is still online for all to see, so people who haven't already seen it can watch it and form their own opinion. I'm out of the high school soccer system, but take an interest in it for other reasons. My sons got several college recruiting letters back in the day, all in a similar vein to what you described. They didn't play for college because there's no money in athletic scholarships, they just walked-on or played college club. Concentrate on grades and go for merit scholarships.
