Did the Cov Cath coach make a decision to stop scoring on Holmes? I thought that would have been a mercy game.

I do not believe so, there were a couple goals scored fairly late in the match... maybe around the 10-15 minute mark.

No offense to Holmes, but the worst performance I've seen by a CCH team in a long time. Uninspired, lazy and poor execution. It was only 3-0 at halftime and should have been over by then. A game that you would think would have been used to tune up and get all the players on the same stage and firing on all cylinders was instead used as a scrimmage game of sorts.

I've seen that happen many times in Club and High School soccer. The stronger team goes in over-confident and just puts in a lack lustre performance. It ends up with the good team somehow playing to the level of the weaker team.

I'm not a Holmes fan, but if I was, I would be offended. Maybe just maybe Holmes gave CCH a little more fight than CCH expected.

You can be offended all you want but Holmes rarely got the ball over midfield. Like I said, they should have had their 10 goals by halftime and ended it with all of the relatively easy chances they were presented with.
