  1. Maggie Jones played a great game. She will be fun to watch the next two years.
  2. Congrats to Conner and good luck to them and Coach Stamm moving forward.
  3. This was a wow game! Ryle up big thinking they would win easily to then the next thing HC battled back to almost win. I agree, anything can happen at this time of the year!
  4. I believe SK will be focused on shutting down Clinkenbeard & Stanley. I don't feel as if SK is concerned about Pardee. Per KHSAA stats Pardee only scored 4 points in their last game against SK. Kelch at 6'8" will control the paint tonight defensively. I expect Kelch will have a bigger impact on tonight's game than the last time they played. I do agree it will come down to other players stepping up for both teams beyond their normal top 2 or 3 players. Should be a great game.
  5. Should be a great game. I would say if you want a seat you get there early. Will probably be a sell out. Good luck to both teams moving forward. I also agree with the said above, I wouldn't want to play either of these two teams first round of Regions. Rep NKY!
  6. To say Fredrick runs away with it is just foolish. Per KHSAA scored board PPG: CJ 22.5 AK 21.0 FG% CJ 57.4 AK 51.0 3pt FG% CJ 48.8 AK 48.6 FT% CJ 83.7 AK 81.3 Rebounds CJ 3.3 AK 7.6 (big difference) All of their stats are very similar except rebounding. AK has a huge advantage when it comes to rebounding. I believe AK is a much better defender. He guards the opponents best player every night. CJ does not. CJ has a better surrounding cast. Therefore he is able to get better shots. AK has a lot more pressure on him all the time. CJ is a better passer. AK is quicker, can take players off the dribble, and is a better ball handler than CJ AK dominated CJ last year in the regional finals. Both are going to nice D1 schools Granted, both players are really, really good high school players. It has been a blessing to get to see them play the past couple years. They both are great players and well deserving of 9th region player of the year. To slant it any way to say one of them is a run away is just foolish and reduces all your credibility. There really isn't that much difference in them.
  7. Hoping no one else comes down with the flu. I know kids don't want to miss but come on. The way that stuff is going around right now. I thought Nowak did a great job. He is a up in your grill kinda defensive player. Way to go Casey.
  8. Anderson (1-2) - Penny 6 3 15, Pittman 3 0 8, Griffin 8 0 16, Rice 2 0 6, Mayberry 3 0 6, Labbart 2 0 4, Jefferson 0 2 2. Totals: 24 5 57. Walton (3-0) - Brook 1 0 2, Jones 2 0 4, Stanley 4 2 11, Lay 4 3 13, Clinkenbeard 6 0 17, Shazier 3 0 7, Pardee 8 2 18, Grubbs 2 0 5. Totals: 10 7 77. Halftime: WV 39-33. 3-pointers: WV 10 (Clinkenbeard 5, Lay 2, Shazier, Grubbs, Stanley); A (Pittman 2, Rice 2). Some nice scoring by the Bearcats. Congrats on the W
  9. Easy can be said for WV. They missed a lot of outside shots that those kids normally make. Think they only made 3 from the outside if I'm not mistaken. However, like I've said before, GC def plays hard nosed all the time.
  10. WV plays some stellar defense. If the player does get by them, the bigs are there to help get it out. Hoping Miles is ok.
  11. GC always seems to get it done and plays til the whistle blow. They hustle and are very scrappy!!
  12. Way to go Brady! I'm sure things are a little different without 2 of their main contributors from last year. Like to see them still have success.
  13. Thanks for sharing. I like catching up this way to get a read on the entire region.
  14. This game was a very good game with lots of players stepping up in the hyped, sold out atmosphere. Anxious to see a rematch and the addition to the WV group. Some solid seniors and juniors.
  15. CCH in this one. Cooper lost a lot from last year and will take some hits this year but will slowly get better. CCH has way to many play makers.
  16. I was very shocked that Macke's switched back to Highlands. I thought they liked and had success at HC. Things change year to year, I guess. :idunno:
  17. Sadly you are correct. Also, if it wasn't for teachers kids, Boone's basketball team would like a little different and Cooper's would also. Definitely a perk being a teacher in Boone Co.
  18. I'm assuming he will be eligible? Did he have to move?
  19. I'm not sure how far back your talking about (not arguing) but the last several years have all been kids that live in district or have went to WV most of their lives. Also there was a time period that many of the players all transferred to other schools and they had some trying years. Definitely got talent and a little luck on their side. Stanley is the only one that I can think of in many years. Good luck to this group of guys and coaching staff. Will be anxious to see you guys play.
  20. Hoping to see the Raiders bounce back after the CCH game. Good luck!
