Dixie Heights 18 Beechwood 12 (JV)
I look at it this way. If a player can play varsity he should dominate JV most of the time. Everett was close to that. Nothing against them but the rest didn't really impress me at all.

Dixie Heights 18 Beechwood 12 (JV)
Looked like they only had about 19 dressed for the game. Some of the sophs looked okay but they really couldn't do anything significant on varsity. The QB Everett looked tough like his brothers. Linebacker Birindelli could possibly help at LB if they had to. Some of these players are on special teams for varsity. Dixie dressed about 31 players for the game. I would assume they had a few more juniors play the game then Beechwood but don't know that for a fact.

How as anyone supposed to know? Voice/Eye, was this the same big guy that caught several passes during the game?

Beechwood / Holy Cross (Covington) Predictions
Have you seen either of the BW games on video? They were fast enough vs Mt Healthy. Dixie was bigger/stronger. We shall see! Did HC get healthy with the week off?

Beechwood / Holy Cross (Covington) Predictions
Agree to some extent but history tells me they won't. Last year they were throwing bombs and getting up big quickly. Did the same thing in other years. I wouldn't eliminate the passing game but take the long ones out of the playbook. Still do the screens, drags, quick slants, etc because they need to work on those type of passes. With good field conditions, I expect Beechwood to win big. If they don't there are problems in Ft Mitchell!

Dixie Heights 18 Beechwood 12 (JV)
Sorry I missed that final play. Dixie's first two scoring drives started inside the Beechwood 15 yd line because of the fumbles. I thought the Dixie QB had some nice short passes during the game. that help them move the ball. I realize Beechwood's varsity kicker is a sophomore but it bothers me that they didn't have a true kicker for this JV game. Bring up the freshman kicker to get experience. What happens if the varsity kicker gets hurt, becomes ineligible or leaves the program?

Beechwood / Holy Cross (Covington) Predictions
From the video I have seen, Holy Cross does not have the line or the running backs that Mt Healthy or Dixie has. Doubt they will have anywhere near the success that Dixie had vs Beechwood defense.

Ethan Schulte was still in the game late. He is the last guy I would want hurt considering he can put the ball in the endzone on every kickoff.

Who did dixie scrimmage and how did they do? Edit: Actually found some threads that showed they scrimmaged Milford in lightening shortened game and Cooper. Unfortunately the posts were dominated by a fan from another Kenton County School.

Beechwood/Dixie Heights Predictions
I'm surprised at the current post results at 28/8 favoring Beechwood. Did Dixie really lose that much from last year?

In the poll it list Dixie as 1-1. Haven't they only played the one game vs Cov Cath and therefore 0-1?

Mt. Healthy (OH) 40 Beechwood 34
Shaekley is a great place to watch a game but the Skyline organizers need to assign sides for fans to sit. Ended up with Beechwood and Mt Healthy intermixed in what I would say was the BW end. The BW student section wanted to stand but the MH fans complained to security. Seems appropriate for the BW students to stand on the 30 yd line of that end since the MH band and students were on the other end. Could have ended badly if not for BW administrators getting involved. Don't know what MH would have thought if the Colonel Crazies would have showed up.

Mt. Healthy (OH) 40 Beechwood 34
How do you know if you are old or new guard? Are there informational meetings I can attend to make a decision? In my opinion, comparing Stringer and Studer is comparing apples to apples. Granny Smiths, Fuji or Red Delicious. It depends weather you want to eat them, make pie or dip the in caramel sauce. They all can get the job done but in different ways. To me they are different kinds of runners and the coaches need to have them run the right plays for their style. Both can catch passes in space and make something happen. That game was winnable for the a Tigers. Dug a big hole that was hard to get out of but almost got it done. Best thing was that the tigers used numerous players and that is what kept them fresh throughout the game. Saw almost every player/position getting rested during the game. That will help in the future. Don't think there were any injuries either.

Mt. Healthy (OH) 40 Beechwood 34
Don't know what the play is called but it looks like a jet sweep reverse. Fieger to Burns to Slusher. It was about a 40+ yard gain but Slusher probably ran twice that. Burns had to pitch it quickly to Slusher because Mt Healthy was right there. He also did a very good job on defense.
-
Mt. Healthy (OH) 40 Beechwood 34
The first Beechwood scoring drive had several running plays to Studer. After the game they said Fieger was 21 for 42. Most of the misses probably came in first half. Catches thrown to numerous receivers. Studer, Burns, Slusher, Stokes, Way, Plegman, stringer all had catches. Not sure if I missed anyone else. Fieger did not have a lot of time to throw and did much better in second half evadeIng the rush.
