  1. Big win for the Tigers on the road. Blake smith was a beast tonight. 30 pts 8 rebounds. Farmer had a double double with 15 and 11. House had 14. Clay is a double digit better team on a neutral floor. Nobody on floor could guard Smith tonight. He had his way all night. Farmer was knocking down jumpers and a beast on the boards.
  2. I don't think you will see smith doing what he did defensively last year as far as being the star stopper. Clay needs his offense too much. But I do think you will see Smith lock down on the other teams star during crunch time. And maybe at times throughout the game just to slow him down. And you are 100% percent correct about Clay not being able to afford losing Smith to foul trouble. I expect Corbin to play a triangle and 2 face guarding Smith and Farmer all night. Problem with this is Wolfe and House should eat them alive. Clay's offense will really cause teams trouble this year, they have 4 kids that can get 25 on any night. And no one's been able to slow down Smith this year. So it will be interesting to see the game plans and the in game adjustments to each. I'll stick with Clay winning but it should be a battle at Corbin.
  3. I was told leg injury of some sort, but I'm not 100%
  4. Great write up on the region. There's no doubt about Blake Smith's ability. He is a stud. His average would be alot higher had he played more minutes. What's crazy is he is averaging 25 a game while shooting almost 75 %. I think Clay is #1 until someone beats them but this week will tell alot with games at Corbin and vs North.
  5. I think if Clay can speed this game up North don't stand a chance however if Sizemore holds the ball which he tends to do then North will be in it. It will be interesting to see how the 2 match up. Two very different teams with 2 very different styles. Basically Bigs vs Guards. I look for a huge game out of Blake Smith for Clay and the tigers win by 7.
  6. Another good match up of 2 of the better teams in the 13th. I'll take Harlan in the upset by 3. Still don't think Knox has adjusted to the new coach and system plus the loss of Adams will hurt.
  7. This one will be a slobber knocker. I'll say this on a neutral floor clay is a double digit better team but it's awfully hard to win at Corbin, just ask perry central. Smith and Farmer must stay out of foul trouble, if this happens Clay wins by 5
  8. Hammonds and Lawson are their top players from last year. They also had a 8th grader playing up last year that saw some minutes. Can't remember his name but He looked to make a good ball player as well. I really figured they would pack it after Collier left.
  9. Blake Smith finished 8-10, 5-6 FT, 21 pts, 6 reb, 4 assist, 3 blocks. Led Clay in all categories. For those who haven't saw Smith it's amazing how effortlessly he looks on the floor. He only played 21 min last night or he would have dropped 30 or more.
  10. North laurel can not play with these athletic teams they are too big and slow. If a team runs alot they will run them out if the gym. Also they have no ball handlers. When you play north, Broughton will get 30 and they will most likely lose. There whole offense is centered around him. It will be interesting to see how collier will effect his game.
  11. Wow jackson playing much bettrr than people thought. Only lost to corbin by a few now this big win. Kinda impressive.
  12. Clay county looked really good tonight. Marcum pulled the starters early in the 4th. Clay's offense was clicking on all cylinders tonight. Blake Smith and Trey Farmer looked really good tonight. With Ryan House having his best game of the year.
  13. I agree Madison central is a quality team. That score last night would have been way different with jones on the court. This was a nice win for them considering he is out. I thought he was there best player when Clay county played them
  14. Wow. I like southwestern alot. I Think They will win the 12th. But perry looked horrible against Corbin last night and even worse today. I think Perry was down and out from that battle last night but still no excuses for the egg they laid today. Congrats Southwestern. Good win
  15. This margin really shocks me. I thought Madison was a solid ball team
  16. Tobler was in foul trouble 1st half and Beverly was in second half. He fouled out with a little over minute to go. Perry played bad
  17. Rowan got destroyed by southwestern last Saturday and by clay county this summer. I don't think they are that good. Solid team but nowhere near a top 25 team
  18. Perry central should be around 15th and Clay county should be a little higher. Not sold on Wayne County that high either
  19. Farmer had 5 fouls in first quarter and smith had 4. It was ridiculous. And no one fouled out but yes 3 or 4 players had at least 7 fouls
