I disagree with 2 things, North is currently 3-3 not 2-2. And they haven't beaten a quality team yet. Yes they played clay tough but that's a rivalry game. Also Broughton is talented and good don't get me wrong but he never scored a single bucket on Smith and if Smith guarded him the whole game I don't think he gets much at all. Smith has won every head to head matchup they have had and his defense is 10 to 1 better. Don't drink the kool-aid cause anybody can drop 30 against bad teams when you have the green light anytime. Next thing is there is no way this team is 2nd right now. I would rank corbin and south ahead of them. Both have a quality win and winning records. Rankings should be on performance not potential.

This will tell the tale if South is for real. If they can keep it close or win there the real deal and right now I believe they are. Corbin wins by 3

This could be a loss for the tigers who are nowhere near full strength. Will be without 2 possibly 3 starters tonight. Look for big games out of blake smith and Wes wolfe tonight. If Smith and Wolfe stay out of foul trouble Tigers by 5.

They did let him return last year, but the coaches left it up to the players from what I'm told. And there was some consequences.

He was a starter and was unhappy with his playing time in the North Laurel game. He quit last year as well and came back. Clay really needs him if House is gonna miss any time at all. And by the looks of the injury to Arnold I'd say he is done for the year.(speculation only). They wasn't deep to begin with but now they are bare bones.

CLAY got hit hard with the injury bug tonight. Had one of the top 6 quit. (Sams). Had starter Ryan House out with knee injury. Had new Starter Coty Arnold go down with a very serious ankle injury in 2nd quarter. And had starter Trey Farmer out at times with back spasms. Overall Clay came out flat and played that way the entire game. I really don't know how they even won. Here's the stats: Wolfe 17 pts, 7 reb. Farmer 16 pts, 6 reb, 3 ast. Smith. 14 pts, 7 reb, 8 ast. Sexton. 9 pts, 5 reb. House 9 pts, played 2 quarters Arnold. 7 pts, 3 reb. Injured in 2nd quarter.

South Laurel is at best the 5-6 in the 13th. Clay, Corbin, Knox Central, and North Laurel are clearly ahead of them. And I would put Harlan county and Williamsburg above them as well.

The 13th is way better than this ranking. They are right there with the 14th top to bottom. South laurel which is a 8-10 team in the 13th just wiped the court with West Jessamine which is a top 5-6 in the 12th.

Broughton had 20. And North will not be better than Clay next year. Clay only loses House. Smith had 22 and 9 rebounds. And Shut Broughton down in the 4th. Broughton is good don't get me wrong but anyone in that gym tonight knows who the best player on the floor was, SMITH.

Tigers win a close one. Key to the game was when Blake Smith was switched to guard Broughton at the end of the 3rd quarter. Broughton was non existent the rest of the game. He only had one basket on a pick play when Smith fell down. Clay didn't play very well over all, Farmer struggled with his shot and has to get in better shape. Wes Wolfe was huge tonight and Blake Smith had another big game offensively but it was his lock down defense on Broughton that won the game. Good win overall for the tigers. I thought Jeffers played well for North and Broughton got his but man he shoots a lot. I believe when these teams meet come March, Smith will guard him all night and shut him down. North played hard and was better than I thought.

Doesn't surprise me at all. It's a shame kids can't even get home from a game without thugs being thugs. Someone could have really got hurt.

If Wayne loses 2 then they should out until they work there way back up. IMHO I still think they are over rated.

Coach P. Last night said Barnes was out for the year. He's gonna have shoulder surgery in the near future. Wish the kid the best and a full recovery.

They are 25th according to the Lexington Hearld, and i look for them to be in the top 20 next time it comes out. They are better than last years team.

How many shot attempts did Broughton have? I know hes a big scorer but hes also a volume shooter, Ive seen many nights where he will have 25 points on 20 shot attempts. Still the 47 in an impressive number.
