From numerous fans that attended the game last night I heard comments on how the players in street clothes were on their cell phones the entire game while sitting on the bench, and we're even eating food from the concession stands while on the bench during varsity game? While maybe doing the right thing in sitting them, I don't know of many, if any head coaches who would approve of those actions.

How long are the players for Dunbar out for? Weren't they pre-season top 25?

It's high school basketball! If visiting teams can't handle the heat, they need to get out of the kitchen! I think it makes everyone from fans to players feel more involved when their is enthusiasm from the PA guy. Sports are feeling more and more like a dictatorship rule everyday now in youth sports.

I think Antwavon (Pig) Williams will have a breakout year at Mason County for Coach O'Hearn. Wouldn't be surprised if he isn't a top 10 player by the end of the season. The 10th region is loaded with some great talent.

I'm hearing junior guard Roberto London may play for Scott High this year. I believe he sat out last year to focus just on football. If he does suit up for Coach Carr what type of impact will he have for Scott this year?

Although nothing has been announced, or finalized yet I've heard the following schools mentioned: Campbell Co, Scott High, Madison Central, Ryle, Newport, Augusta, Harrison Co, and Mason Co. If that field holds true, should be a pretty competitive tournament.

Told after 4 quarters of mostly starters action that Cov Cath beat Mason Co 64-55. Bo Schuh had close to 25 if not more. Scored from inside, mid range, and knocked down a couple threes. Vanhandorf did not play, and was in a boot on the bench. Mainly second 5 played 2 more quarters, with Mason Co winning 36-34.

Cov Cath will travel to Mason Co tomorrow to play the Royals in a varsity only scrimmage at 9:30AM.

What a disaster! At this point in the process they're just hurting the kids within the program. With both Jason Hinson, and Scott Code declining the job, who do they really expect to hire? Sounds like it has turned into a fiasco that most qualified applicants would steer clear of.

TBC Elite won the St. Louis Eagles Spring Classic in St Louis today. From TBC account it looks like they finished 2-1 in pool play with the lone lose coming in triple ot, which was sudden death. They'll be in Ft. Wayne next weekend.

Sowder has been at PC for 8 years I believe? 3 as freshman head coach, 4 as JV head coach, and then last year as 8th grade head coach. Stapleton coached the current sophmore, soon to be junior group as 7th graders and 8th graders. I believe he was an assistant one of the years with varsity team as well. He's been the head freshman coach, and varsity assistant the last two years at Mason Co.

His brother Kane, and Brent Sowder will undoubtedly be on staff next year. Kane played at PC, and Pikeville College when they won a national championship. He also has served as the JV head coach at Beechwood, and freshman/varsity assistant this year at PC. Brent Sowder brings back (Was on varsity staff last 6-7 years at PC before last year) great X's & O's, and great relationships with the kids. The kids respect him, and always give him 110%. Glad to see PC get one right with this hire. I think they will certainly play extremely hard, and in a few years could be right back in the mix of things.
