  1. Yes, Camels seemed to pick up the pace in the 2nd half as well. Keep saying they should play more uptempo as they seem to do well in that style. With so many guards, good shooters, and a 6'9" guy that can run the floor, they can steal some points before defenses have a chance to build a fortress around Wilson.
  2. It's difficult to be "the initiator of contact" with 2-3 guys hanging and holding and grabbing jersey. Wilson takes up a lot of space and is a strong kid who is tough to handle. In my opinion he does a good job moving and trying to get into position to receive the ball. He gets beat up and is double and triple teamed every game but you will rarely see him complain, ever throw an elbow, or lose his cool. Good tough player.
  3. Neither team the same as first week of the season but I think the Camels have developed more. They are starting to figure it out. I'll take Camels in this one.
  4. May have been a career high for McGovney. Love when the Camels play with a little more pace.
  5. Getting back to the true title of the thread, congrats to Ansley. Had the opportunity to coach her early on in Knothole and could tell she was going to be a great athlete. Best of luck in future. Great kid from a great family.
  6. Guess it's a good thing we're not in the 11th....
  7. He's one smooth player. Had a very nice game. Camels were 1 point away from 6 players in double figures. Camels played well in up tempo game. Shared the ball well tonight.
  8. Sorry... Let me clarify. The point I was trying to make is that despite the turnovers the Camels found a way to win. Joel Day was huge for the Camels. Good to see some others get an opportunity to help the cause. Scored 9 in the 2nd half to give the Camels a boost. Turnovers seem to be one of the Camels achilles heels which I'm sure coaches have addressed. Last night they were spread across the entire team, not just one position.
  9. These numbers are unofficial. ..... but Camels had 276 turnovers.....
  10. Camels made a nice comeback in the 4th and had chances to go in front late but couldn't make free throws. Mustangs kept Camels in it down to the wire by missing some of their own. Great atmosphere as always. Not sure if there is another regular season game in the area with this large a crowd and this atmosphere.
  11. Camels led by 2 with 7 seconds. Stripped McClendon with a double team which would have ended it but was called for questionable foul. Holmes made both FT for OT. Can't remember if Holmes ever had the lead in the 4th quarter. If so it was quick. Camels just missed opportunities to finish.
  12. Camels controlled this game from 2nd quarter on. Were up 6 or 8 with about 3:30 to play. Camels missed front end of one and one 4 times in last few minutes which would have put the game away. McClendon is a player. Hit some big shots. Camels let this one get away.
  13. While some people thought this was a game Campbell would and should win (including myself) Dixie played a solid game and deserved to win. They made few mistakes, were patient on offense, and were solid defensively.
  14. I would say that situation (or perception) is inherent in almost every school system... some will complain, some decide to transfer, and others just accept.
  15. It was neither stated nor intended to be used as an excuse. Just stating the way it is......
  16. I have been to every CC game the past two seasons and I can tell you that while they (Bertsch and Measner) may have gotten in a certain number of games they did not get "quality" minutes which lead to experience. Wilson, McGovney, and Hegyi are obvious, but the other 2 starters and the group off the bench don't have a lot of varsity experience. You can doubt all you want but you weren't there.
  17. I don't think the coaching is an issue. With the teams they've had the last 2 years there weren't a lot of opportunities for playing time for the boys playing now. The Camels will find their way and get better but I would agree that it's time for guys to step up.
  18. Great kid from a great family. He will do well and be successful wherever he chooses to go. Miami would be great; close enough to drive up and watch the "man in the middle".
