Campbell County 83 Conner 70

Final. Camels put a good game together. Michael Scott from Conner had to have had 30+.

Nice win Camels!

Scott had 32 for the Cougars. 5 Camels with double figures.

Michael had a great game...When Spencer gets back it will open up the middle even more for Michael. I believe he had 19 points in the 3rd.

He's one smooth player. Had a very nice game. Camels were 1 point away from 6 players in double figures. Camels played well in up tempo game. Shared the ball well tonight.

Sorry! But about time for Camels to win a game against some top competition. Top pre-season team in 10th have played below everyone's expectations. Good time to get rolling! Go Camels!

Top competition? Conner lost to Cov Catholic by 31 and didn't even score 30 .... hardly a "signature win" ....

Would have to agree here, but also a win is a win and we can use any we can scrape up.

Tough to gauge Conner on one bad outing without one of their leading scorers. CovCath can expose you if you are not 100% healthy and you don't bring your "A" game. Conner has been very competitive against almost every team they have played and have been without Hemmerich since before Christmas. This is the most points the Camels have scored all year and against a team that will get after you on defense. I wouldn't take anything away from them on this win, maybe not signature but a good win none the less.

Box score/stats?

Bertsch 25, Wilson 18, Hegyi 12, Clos 11, Mcgovney 11, Day 9, Measner 2, Teegarden 1 per the KHSAA website.

Conner needs to get healthy, pure and simple. They've been without their leading scorer, Hemmerich, for a month now. Key reserve Jake Supernaut has been out the past 2 weeks, and last night they were also without their starting "big" Logan Cook (who had been playing really well) who hit his face on the floor and lost a tooth the previous game.

They are down 2 starters and a significant other, and at the pace they play they need all hands on deck to be effective.

Great W for the Camels! Headed in the right direction. They are going to challenge for the 10th region spot at state this year!

Conner was 11-3 coming in with losses only to Cooper, Holy Cross, and CovCath. First two they were very competitive. Granted CovCath was a blowout with extenuating circumstances. Conner is still considered upper tier in NKy and this was an excellent win for Camels. Let's hope its the start of great things to come. Losing can become tiring, unenjoyable and then migrate toward acceptable. IMO that is not where the Camels are, or ever will be.
