Question for you Kentucky fans
George Amberson replied to newarkcatholicfan's topic in College Basketball
I'm not disappointed in them at all. Losing to talented, more experienced teams in the first couple months of the season isn't alarming to me, it's expected. The Arkansas game (in Bud Walton Arena) is always a tough game, no matter the talent of the two teams. I think Randle is developing even though his numbers haven't changed much. The game @ Arkansas was the most i've seen him pass to the perimeter after getting doubled or tripled. Yeah, he still forced some, but it was less than normal. I think his forcing has a lot to do with no one being able to throw a simple entry pass to him where he can get good position to score. I do expect Andrew to start turning the ball over less. In my opninion, the best lineup right now is Aaron, Young, Poythress, Randle, and WCS. -
Oh okay I got ya :thumb:

I know that, you only took part of my entire comment about it. That's why I said but that's okay. I'm glad he talks about it all the time, it's something he does great so he should be proud of it and keep telling recruits about it. Some people say that's all he cares about. No, that's not all he cares about, but to win and achieve his goals for UK and himself, he needs to be talking like this and keep showing young kids how they're best bet to develop and succeed is to come to UK.
-
I don't think that is quite how he meant it. He is trying to make kids dreams come true. I love when people say that it doesn't matter where these 5 star kids go to school because they'd go to the NBA anyway. There are so many examples of this not being the case and Cal has a great track record with putting kids into the NBA and developing them so he talks about it a lot (maybe too much, but that's okay). So, he is helping end poverty for families in a way, but John Anthony wasn't trying to compare him to Mother Theresa. Look at Eric Bledsoe, who was NOT a 5 star or expected one and done, who is on the verge of signing a max contract after this season. Eric Bledsoe was living out of a car in high school for a time period and think of what Coach Cal has helped (note I said help, not that it was all him) him accomplish. Stories like that are what make me proud to have him as our coach. I wish we could win every game but that's not the case. Here is hoping fans don't forget to enjoy the ride and keep their love for UK basketball no matter what's going on.

Oh okay, I wasn't sure because John Anthony said he had concerns with UK, so wasn't sure what that really could be.

Kentucky @ Arkansas - Thoughts And Predictions
George Amberson replied to oldrambler's topic in College Basketball
In my opinion, this would be the best win to date this season. -
John Anthony and Dolamite let's hope UK is the pick thing. I've read a lot about him and heard he was a special player, just haven't got to see him in person so I can only go on the information I've read/heard. As far as his concerns with UK, is it being recruited over or something else?
-
I will definitely keep this in mind. Thank you all for the suggestions thus far loving reading this and hearing about cool places I haven't been to. My friend lives in Charleston and she absolutely loves it. Heard it was a great city but having never been there I'm not sure what seperates it from others.

If you hadn't gone on vacation in a little while and you wanted to go to a place with a beach, where would you all recommend (in the U.S.)?
-
That's what I have heard, figured I'd ask you all since some of you guys have seen him play multiple times. If you had your guess on what college he will go to what would it be?

Love seeing Terrence Jones making the most of his opportunity with the Rockets. Sometimes going to the D-League for a bit and developing isn't such a bad thing. Davis has been a monster all year, too bad they are crippled by injuries. Wall has had a great year too, would love to see his shooting % go up but I think that will come as more talent comes to them and they grow as a team in general. Really excited about the Cats in the NBA and it is only going to get better. Also, I really believe Cousins is the best center in the league right now. Starting a franchise I'd take him over Dwight. -
Can Anyone Beat The Seattle Seahawks???
George Amberson replied to JokersWild24's topic in National Football League (NFL)
If the Niners can contain Lynch and get off to a quick start to help against the crowd I think SF has a good shot of winning. Will be a great game. -
How athletic is Kennard? I've only seen a couple of highlight tapes and it is tough to tell from something like that.

My friends and I said the same thing. We all use it, but I don't see how it can go much higher value wise than it already is. Anyone know why they turned the deal down?

AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Broncos
George Amberson replied to SvFan4life's topic in National Football League (NFL)
Taking Manning and the Broncos. I don't think the Patriots have the defense to contain the Broncos offense in Denver. I'll say Denver 31 New England 24. -
As mentioned previously, my friends and I noticed the good passing into the post immediately by Willis too. The fact that this has been mentioned this many times shows how bad the passing into the post has been. Other than that, he wasn't much of a factor, however, I do like seeing him get some PT. He is a good shooter and someone that can stretch the zone a little bit to make it easier for UK to score. The biggest worry with him, just like Lee, is that he gets lost on defense at times which is the biggest reason for his lack of playing time this season. This team keeps improving though, can't wait to see the game tomorrow, that will be a heck of a test.

Thank you, I appreciate it! :thumb:

Mike Zimmer favorite to land Vikings HC job
George Amberson replied to theguru's topic in National Football League (NFL)
And hopefully I didn't confuse anyone with that, I realize this thread is about Zimmer. He will be the bigger loss in my opinion, but I don't think people should be so quick to be happy about Gruden leaving either. -

George Amberson replied to theguru's topic in National Football League (NFL)
People shouldn't confuse Schwartz the head coach with the defensive coordinator, that wouldn't be bad. This will be a BIG loss for them and even though a lot of fans bagged on him, Gruden did help this offense get better every year. Bengals had something going for them (continuity) that helped get them some success in recent years. These losses will sting and as a non-Bengals fan I am pretty excited about that! -

Love the fact some of these guys are really starting to make their mark on this league! Also, thanks to you all for keeping this thread going it makes it easy to find out what is going on with the players. -
I like the fact that people looked like they were actually out there battling. Obviously a bad start to the game, but after the first ten minutes it seemed like people for fighting. Randle was fighting for every rebound even though he was frustrated offensively which was a great sign. I think they are starting to turn the corner and will get better every game.
