  1. John Wall had 22 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in a 100-90 win to get the Wizards over 500 for the first time since 2009! Brandon Knight had 25 points and 7 assists, along with a cold blooded 3 to win the game -- Anthony Davis had 17 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 blocks in a loss to the Spurs. DeMarcus Cousins had 25 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 assists in a 99-70 win over the Bulls.
  2. Even if they were all the same age, I'd definitely take Big Cuz and Davis before Howard if I were starting a team. Like you said, howard is basically just a freak athlete with limited basketball skills. Davis and Cousins are both a lot more skilled than him IMO and better basketball players in general.
  3. I didn't say they weren't deserving of their ranking. I said I still don't think they are a top ten team, as in I believe that there are at least ten teams better than them. Their ranking (which might be top 10 soon) is justified based on what they've done this year. It's just my personal opinion that they are not one of the best 10 teams, not that they don't deserve to ranked there if/when they do.
  4. Good win by UC. Their defense is impressive. Kilpatrick was clutch with all the free throws at the end. I haven't gotten to watch a ton of UC games but to me (right now) I still don't think they are a top ten team from what i've seen. But, they are 20-2 and keep winning, so maybe I'm underestimating them.
  5. Idk about sitting the Harrisons, especially because before last night Andrew looked like he was starting to handle things better, I would definitely sit WCS though. Unfortunately, just like his play against other good big men, I think he would handle it weakly and we could lose him. I love Dakari and think he is going to be great, but he isn't there yet physically to do it. We need WCS to be the defensive presence he is known to be in order to make a run. Cal knows this, which is why he keeps starting (same with Andrew for that matter, we aren't going on a deep run behind Polson and Hawkins).
  6. Hickey was good enough to start and play somewhere else (LSU for example) that he wasn't going to come to UK to ride the bench when he could play at another major school and get playing time a lot earlier. Also, Polson has an agreement with Cal that if need be he'd be a walk on, but as long as one is available he'd always have a scholarship.
  7. I don't understand why Polson is getting this much more PT over Hawkins all of a sudden. Last night Hawkins came in and immediately created a turnover. Yeah I realize he's not an offensive threat at the moment, but neither is Polson unless he wide open and feels forced to shoot. Most of the time Polson takes a couple dribbles and then passes it with no threat of the drive on his dribbles. But, at least Polson and Hawkins try all the time, which is more than can be said about the twins. But, imo, Polson really gets exposed badly against teams that have any type of athletic ability at all. Since he isn't guarding well and he isn't scoring, i'd roll with Hawkins more, but maybe that's just me.
  8. Anthony Davis had 30 points, 7 rebounds, 8 blocks, and 3 assists in a 100-89 victory over the Cavs. Darius Miller had 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist in 13 minutes. Terrence Jones had 21 points and 9 rebounds in a 97-90 win over the Spurs. Jodie Meeks had 21 points in a 104-92 loss against the Pacers. John Wall had 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in a 88-85 win at Golden State. Also, here is a link to his awesome chase down block on Steph Curry -- John Wall gets the chasedown block on Stephen Curry (VIDEO) | ProBasketballTalk
  9. In my opinion, the game last year at Tennessee was probably the most embarrassed i've ever felt during and after a game.
  10. The only way i'd go if I were either of them is if I was a guaranteed first rounder (guaranteed contract), otherwise I think they both would see their stock rise considerably with another year of learning under Cal and a (presumably) weaker draft next year.
  11. I know this is nba related too, but posting it in the college section because I think it will get talked about more, but understand if the mods move it. I was looking at some mock drafts. Draft express is a site that updates all the time. The link after this will be for it. I don't see either of the Harrisons listed in either round. Obviously we are still a few months away with plenty of time for players to move up or down based on performance. But, I feel like there is a really strong chance they will be back next year. Anyone else think so? DraftExpress: Mock Draft
  12. There's no doubt the Cavs drafting has been horrible. I'm just looking at both rosters and I don't think either one is very good. But, in just comparing the two guards, I see one guy who is a better shooter (Irving) and another guy who does everything else better (Wall). If it's me, especially for a point guard, I'm taking the guy that doesn't have to shoot a lot to be effective and does everything better than the other guy. Like I said, I think they are both really good and wish they were on teams with more talent around them. That's the price of being the #1 pick sometimes though.
  13. What about Irving who has missed a TON of games in his career thus far?
  14. Was happy to see Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron score touchdowns. Also, Joe Haden had an interception as well.
  15. Actually, there's been a lot of national sports folk talking about how they think Wall should be starting instead of KI for this. Been multiple articles on major sites (sports illustrated for example) backing up their opinion on this. I think they are both great, young players. I also think Wall is doing more THIS year and has proven to be a better play this year thus far, which is what matters. Like Lipton said, I just don't see Kyrie making his teammates better. Also, Ariza and Webster wouldn't start on most teams in the league. Varejao would start on a lot of teams and is a good player. Bennett shouldn't even be mentioned because he hardly ever plays.
  16. Are they not going to make up any of those games? I figured the Toyota Classic games won't be played, but what about the local ones?
  17. I think Wall is the better player too. Yeah, Irving has a much better shot and is a better scorer in general (not by much), but Wall is better at distributing, playing defense, rebounding, etc. Also, I don't think the Wizards roster is much better than the Cavs to be honest.
  18. Honestly, I thought it was a good idea to do that. They obviously know what everyone is saying about them and Banner started it off with that to lighten the mood in the room. The Cleveland media was ready to tear them to pieces. A lot of people are complaning about how they just let Pettine do the questions. Honestly, this day was about Pettine and not them. I was glad to see them let him have his moment otherwise every question would have been directed to Banner and Haslam. Personally, I didn't have a problem with it. I understand where you are coming from though.
  19. I think the Cats win comfortably. I'm more focused on Willie fighting back from his poor play recently, Andrew to keep it going, and get off to a fast start for once.
