  1. I do want to remember it. A tough loss that hurt bad, but also helped UK in the long run. IU had a really good team and they proved that the rest of that year, there was no shame in losing. My point is, for a historic program like IU, does it really warrant all the celebration(s) that came along with it? It was a memorable win for IU fans i'm sure, but in the grand scheme of things, especially for IU, it was nothing more than a really good regular season win.
  2. Commemorative popcorn boxes for winning a REGULAR SEASON game against UK didn't help either... these examples are just some of what Crean has done to lower expectations for IU fans. As far as twitter goes, there are a lot of ignorant fans for all teams and every team has fans who trash kids on twitter for picking a different school, bad games, etc.
  3. More so trying to defend the fact that he has had plenty of time to get players there at this point. So, to be fair, we will not even count the first two years. Are the results he's had since then (including this year) really acceptable for you as a fan? I'm not trying to offend you, just as a fan of a historic program like IU I just need to know why it is acceptable if so. The icing on the cake for me was when fans rushed the court recently. That was embarrassing for a program like IU's IMO.
  4. Hysterically bad comparison? Not so much. Different situations, yes, but Cal also inherited an absolute mess and a team coming off an NIT appearance. The best thing Indiana has done since he has gotten there is beat the 2012 UK team in the regular season... only to lose when it mattered most. I have no idea how an IU fan can defend Crean at this point. I understand the rebuilding at first, but why does it seem like they are rebuilding again?
  5. Good to see Dixie take care of business. Going to be a great game vs the blue Colonels on Friday night.
  6. It's amazing that Tom Crean has been able to lower Indiana fans expectations the way he has... Food for thought for all those that complain about Cal and the Cats: Tom Crean is 98-92 with Indiana (he is in his 6th year) with a sweet 16 as his best run in the tournament John Calipari is 142-31 with Kentucky (he is in his 5th year) with an elite 8, two final fours, and a National Title.
  7. You guys should put that clip on youtube and see if it can get close to the Zapruder film for views.... heck even the Zapruder film is more clear than that one (not saying whether the ball went in or not, I can't 100% tell from the video either way).
  8. Exactly... Hatton takes what the defense gives him. It's more about trying to make it tough on him, you know he is going to make plays regardless.
  9. I worked at Bouquet for about a year in a half in college, it is really good. They also got their liquor license within the past year or so and expanded as well, I definitely recommend it!
  10. I completely agree with you on that. Who knows how many years or how long a person really deserves to prove they're the right man for the job. But yeah, new GM's do typically say that so if that new found optimism changed I wouldn't be surprised, i've seen it a million times. You're right, there's a heck of a chance that happens if a horrible season were to happen again. Being in the top 3 for salary cap space, having 10 draft picks (including 2 first rounders), and rising stars like Joe Haden, Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, etc. the Browns are in prime position to make themselves a lot better and quickly too. I think that Haslam recognized this and realizes how important it is to have people he believes in to help the turn around. It was reported that Haslam basically had Banner forced on him by the NFL, so maybe he realized he couldn't do it with those guys anymore.
  11. Haslam was all in for Chip Kelly last year but Banner + Lombardi didn't want to give him as much control as he wanted. Obviously they ended up hiring Chudzinski who was not their first chioce. After blowing many leads in fourth quarters and the team seeming like they had given up towards the end of the year, I think Haslam had enough. For me, personally, I think you need to get a guy in there you truly believe in. The Seahawks and multiple other teams have fired coaches after one year recently and it seemed to work out okay for them (not saying that will happen for the browns). Sometimes, it's better to recognize a mistake(s) earlier and acknowledge it rather than wait until it is too late. I have no idea if you're a Bengals fan, but what about them keeping Marvin Lewis for 11 years now with zero playoff wins? How many years do you get to establish yourself as a winner? His 90-85-1 record screams mediocrity and under-achievement with the talent they've had of late but yet he stays as coach. Is that what people want?
  12. That seems to be the consensus around the league. From what I hear (I feel the same) is that he knows his stuff and is good on TV but it doesn't translate to the front office for whatever reason.
  13. That's a fair question and one that was asked to Haslam and Farmer often at the press conference today. I think it'd be a legitimate question for any franchise though if they were to go 4-12 or somehow regress even more.
  14. Mainly the fact that I don't think he is a good evaluator of talent.. has played a hand in screwing up many drafts (not just for the Browns). I feel like he is very smug and thinks that he is right about everything no matter what it is. Also, the fact that he was never there at press conferences or available to the media while with the Browns this past year. I don't want a GM or anyone high up for a team I like that is scared to face backlash or questions for his decisions with the team.
  15. Can't tell you how excited I am as a Browns fan to finally be done with Lombardi and Banner and moving on to Farmer.
  16. I got some Beats for Christmas and can't describe how happy I am with them. They are definitely expensive, no doubt, but if you're going to be using headphones as much as you are why not have a really good pair? The sound quality to me is incredible and I feel like there's sounds in the music I had never heard before I had them. But, like others said, I am sure there are plenty of quality pairs for cheaper... just depends on how much you value a good pair of headphones.
  17. Was just going to post this... I saw it on ksr, here's the link (see Matt Jones, this isn't so hard :sssh: ) Anthony Davis replaces Kobe Bryant in the All-Star game | Kentucky Sports Radio
  18. Technically, time was lost having to go up the court with it but I get what you're saying... Must have been the wrong call as Rasheed Wallace says "ball don't lie"
  19. Real cool to see UC doing as well as they are. I'm a big UK fan first and foremost but have always had a soft spot for UC too ever since my brother made me watch their games when I was younger (he was a Nick Van Exel fan). Really like how these guys battle every single possession like it's their last. My Cats could certainly learn a thing or two from that. Either way, good for UC to hold serve at home. I saw last night that UC only had one preseason vote for the top 25, just another reason to add to the list of why rankings are pretty irrelevant for the most part.
  20. Florida struggled @ Mississippi State recently and it's historically a tough place to play. I'll say the game will be closer than it should be for awhile but eventually UK pulls away 74-65
  21. How do they get ahold of your pictures or videos in the first place? If it's through you, then you absolutely need to refuse to give them the right to post it unless you're given credit.
