  1. So are you saying that rankings are somewhat determined by whether a team is in the east or the west, and not purely on the skill level, ability, and talent of a team?
  2. 10 - Bowling Green 6 - Lexington Catholic 2 - Beechwood 2 - South Warren 2 - Male 2 - Mayfield TB - 55
  3. 5 - SK 3 - Beechwood 3 - Bowling Green 1 - Danville 1 - Mayfield 1 - Lex Cath 1 - Pulaski Co 1 - Johnson Central 1 - Paintsville 1 - South Warren TB - 37
  4. I would say the completion on 4th and long was much bigger.
  5. E'town has a solid passing game, and THE BEST defense Caldwell seen all year. Not even close.
  6. CONGRATS TO E'TOWN. Simply the better team tonight. E'town defense played great all night. 2 goal line stands came up big. Caldwell only got 3 points out of those two attempts in the red zone. Caldwell's defense had a tough time with the e'town run game. Their offensive line blew the Tigers up most of the night. Caldwell defense came up one play short of ending game when e'town completed a big pass on 4th and long that lead to the hail Mary completion. Great game. Congrats to the Tigers on a great season. Nobody picked this team 10 and 3 in preseason. GOOD LUCK to E'town next week.
  7. WHO CARES? Rank them any way you want. ALL of them had special qualities. The sheer talent brought to Lexington every year is nothing less than incredible. Cal just keeps that door swinging wide open. No matter those that leave, their is another crew behind them. Since Cal's arrival the CATS are in the national title conversation EVERY year. Lets just keep it going.
  8. Tiger Stadium as the E'town Panthers come to town. Hopefully, it is a short visit and a Caldwell win. Want to see a semi final here next week.
  9. 5 - Highlands 3 - Male 3 - Fern Creek 1 - Bowling Green 1 - Caldwell 1 - Central 1 - McCracken 1 - CAL 1 - John Hardin 1 - Paintsville TB - 33
  10. This is what I base my thoughts on. Caldwell will play a two minute offense the whole game. This is most definitely the best all around offense that E'town has seen, not just the passing game either. E'town has a good defense that mostly play zone, and I do not feel that will be a very good strategy against the offense they will see, Caldwell can really spread the field on you in a hurry. I wouldn't necessarily give the edge to E'town on the defensive side of the ball. Caldwell's defense is very well suited for the offensive attack that E'town will bring to Princeton. I have only watched E'town on tape, and have not seen them live. E'town is a VERY good team. They have some really good skill players, and both lines seem pretty solid. I think the difference may be how E'town reacts in a fight. Caldwell will not quit coming, and have been battle tested late in the season (Mayfield). Of course, being a Caldwell fan and them playing at home I will give them the definite advantage. Having said all of that, I am by no means looking past E'town, and don't for one second think the Tigers are either. E'town comes in undefeated and playing very good football. I wouldn't be surprised to see a close one at the end, but I will stick with my previous pick. GO TIGERS
  11. HATERS gonna Hate. Let that ride on. E'town has a good team, but to believe that Caldwell allowed Adair to hang around is absurd. Obviously you got your info from some twitter feed or box score. Let's just say that Adair was beaten handily in a game that was win or go home, and E"town won convincingly over PT in a like game. Other than an early pick 6 by Caldwell, they came out a little flat. Contribute that to Adair County or whatever you want, I have no doubt the Tigers will be ready for E'Town to come to town Friday. They have yet to come up big in big games, ask Mayfield. This game will be closer than the Adair game, but Caldwell by 15.
  12. I haven't seen this Slusher you are talking about, but Dee Cain from Caldwell is the single biggest impact player I have seen in a while. When he is returning punts no one kicks to him. When he is on defense, all plays go away from him. When on offense, the opposing defense follows him around like a dog on a leash.
  13. Anybody in the east side of 3A except Belfry. There are your sleepers in this class. If one of these teams slip up on Belfry and take a win WOW. Bell Co, Corbin , Lawrence Co,Powell Co, Russell, W Carter, Casey Co. NO ONE has given any of these a shot at a title game. Definitely sleepers. Most, if not all, have been ranked in the top 10 of 3A at some point this season. Adair Co, Garrard Co, and maybe PT could be considered sleepers in the west.
  14. Here is a link to coaches win list in KY football history.http://khsaa.org/records/football/footballtop10coaching.pdf several names on there not on the list.
  15. These total win numbers are awesome. hard to phantom over 200 for me. 200 would be a heck of a 20 year stint. 10 wins per year it pretty tough. That's like averaging an undefeated season in the regular season EVERY YEAR. What kind of tenure goes with each of these guys? @Watusi
  16. Dan Goble - had a total of 185 wins ( 3 schools) Shelby Co - 16 Atherton - 48 Christian Co - 121
  17. 5 Boyle Co 3 Trinity 3 Southwestern 1 John Hardin 1 Cooper 1 Elizabethtown 1 Paris 1 Lafayette 1 Shelby Valley 1 Owensboro Catholic TB 41
  18. David Barnes is in his 10th year at Caldwell County. 85 - 39 during that time. (I think)
  19. Let's go round by round. This class will be the toughest in the state after round 1. I got:Caldwell, Union, PT, E'town, Central, Boyle, Garrard, Lex Cath,W Carter, Lawrence Co, Russell, Belfry, Powell Co, Bell Co, Casey Co, Corbin
  20. Spencer Co Powell Co Louisville - Holy Cross Walton - Verona Harlan Monroe Co
  21. 5 - Henry Clay 3 - Manual 3 - Montgomery Co 1 - Casey Co 1 - Daviess Co 1 - Rockcastle Co 1 - Garrard Co 1 - Greenwood Co 1 - Greenup Co 1 - Ludlow TB - 70
  22. Not scoring the TD. LOL. But the jumping over a player.
  23. I have some questions that maybe you guys can help me with. Especially the ones with knowledge of rules. I have rewatched the game on youtube and have a few questions. #1 around the 1:21 mark of the video, Caldwell #86 was called for an unsportsmanlike penalty. He was complaining to the ref ( H ) about a blatant facemask right in front of him by Mayfield # 42. I do not know if he said something to the ref out of line, but it had to be that, correct? #2 around the 2:17 mark of the video, Caldwell #25 scores a TD and then is penalized for either taunting/ unsportsmanlike. Could it be he too said something out of the way, because watching the video his actions were minor compared to the first TD he scored? #3 around the 2:32 mark, the cover up call on Caldwell #25. It is my understanding of this rule that in order for this to be called the player has to be lined up ON the line of scrimmage. Is that not correct? #4 around the 2:58 mark, Bright dove into the end zone. Is that illegal? I heard several complain it is. Is that correct? Several calls were botched by the referees in this game. The PA announcer for Caldwell was also out of line, IMO, to announce "Arnett back to pass". I felt that was uncalled for. I don't remember " Burns back to pass". I though the refs also made some good calls (maybe only after their attention was brought to it, AKA Caldwell 4th down when the sticks showed 3rd down), both crucial pass interference calls (one went against Mayfield and one against Caldwell, both on crucial plays late in the game). I have heard some complaining about the clock at the end of the game. The refs had it right according to the video. On the next to last play (the spike), there was 3.8 on the clock enough time to make that happen, although some assistance was given by the ref crew. I have no issue with who won the game. Mayfield played one heck of a game, as did Caldwell. The Tigers just didn't finish. About 15 to 20 calls (or lack thereof) were made that are questionable in this game and one can only hope neither team will face that going forward, or ANY team for that matter.
  24. Thank you all. Got lucky amongst some fierce competition. I was just fortunate to survive. Never thought I would win, especially never winning a week. Thought for sure I had to have the last week perfect to win.
