  1. Hold it right there. I have been selling EVERY west team. Sure, I sell Caldwell. I also sell Mayfield, McCracken Co, PT, and Murray (to name a few). I have sold the west all season. Especially in 3A, its is flat LOADED. I have NEVER said Caldwell is getting to Bowling Green. I have said the have a shot at it. It will be a tough row to hoe for anybody in the west. That is a fact JAKE. I do have my hopes up for a deep run by Caldwell. I will be satisfied with a semifinal game at home. That would be an awesome year for Caldwell. Anything more than that is icing on the cake. A year after losing Mr Football, stepping up a class, and making a semifinal. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Just getting that far will be no easy ride. if you want me to eat crow for stating things that anyone else would say, then so be it. As long as you don't mind if I deep fry it and add lots of ketchup.
  2. Let me get this right. Nothing against Central, they are having a great season. BUT, they narrowly beat CAL (7-2) and just slipped by Waggener (5-4). While Mayfield (8-1) has a loss to McCracken County (8-1) in OT whose only loss is a game 1 defeat to Paducah Tilghman and has rolled since (less the Mayfield game). So McCracken is a chump, Mayfield is just lucky, Caldwell is a dream, Central is a world beater, all except (based on something that happened in prior years) Belfry is better than them all? There is nothing wrong with being a die hard fan, but (in the words of ESPN analysts on MNF Countdown) "C'mon man".
  3. I agree that to the outside eyes, the Caldwell/Mayfield game has big implications going forward. If Caldwell rolls Mayfield (NOT going to happen), they would become the frontrunners in 3A. A close game (probable), they are in the conversation as a front runner (should already be). A Mayfield blowout (doubtful), would put an exclamation point on the Cardinal regular season. Again, I feel Mayfield is one of the best teams in the state regardless of class. Boyle vs Paul Dunbar and LexCath vs Southwestern. Nothing to see here. Just need everyone to stay away from injury. Central vs PRP. A Central win puts another feather in their cap in a very strong season. Other than that, not much to learn here. Belfry vs. J C. Could learn a lot from this game also. Although Belfry will probably make a run to Bowling Green, can they compete with the west winner who is coming from a loaded division? A big win here would solidify that they can. A loss may indicate the championship in 3A could be decided in the west semi final. All of that to say "who knows". Could a loss for one of these teams be a wake up call that they haven't reached the finish line yet, or they just aren't as good as billed? I believe all the questions will be settled on the field, and I can't wait to get it started. Football fans have to love this time of year.
  4. Yes, PT is smaller. Murray loves to control the clock, and pound you to death. However, you are also correct to go with the skill players for PT to give them an edge. The big thing that sticks out to me is the common opponents. Both played Mayfield and Graves. While Mayfield got by them both, Graves didn't fare as well against PT( PT won 49-29, Murray lost 39-14). PT is a lot more explosive. If both teams take care of the ball, PT should pull this one out.
  5. This one comes in a close second to the Mayfield@Caldwell game. Should be a good one. Both teams looking to make a run in playoffs. Have to give the edge to PT in this one. PT - 35 Murray -29
  6. Pushing the games back one week is the most correct answer. Skip the weekend after Thanksgiving, and let everyone have a holiday off. Come back the next weekend with the semis and follow it up with the title games the next weekend.
  7. Only for semifinals, if it is Caldwell. I think that is right.
  8. As you can see, this is how I see the regions of Kentucky. I have conceded that Owensboro should be included in Western KY. It makes divisions much more uniform. I am not about to argue just where each line should be (one county this way or that way), BUT this is VERY close. There are some counties you could flip one way or another along regional lines, but that is it.
  9. The sly GreyFox is out there on his own on this one.
  10. Evidently, you have not read this ENTIRE post. Please go to POST #5 by ATLCat (whose opinion I respect) and you will see that Kentucky has been split into 5 regions for the sake of THIS conversation. While we (ATLCat and myself) differ on exactly what each region is made up of, we are talking 5 different regions.
  11. Let's recap. You NOW agree that Lexington is farther NORTH than approximately 75% of the rest of the state (geographically speaking ONLY).
  12. Here you go one more time. This is a geographical map of KENTUCKY (The WHOLE state) and it is shaded in GREEN. Lexington is located approximately halfway between 84*W and 85*W and just NORTH of 38*N. EVERYTHING SOUTH of 38*N is SOUTH of Lexington. It may be due south, southeast, or southwest(the part you keep missing) but nevertheless IT IS SOUTH. As you look at the map you will see that approximately 75% of the state is SOUTH of Lexington. Walton would probably have less than 5% of the state NORTH and 95% SOUTH. Keep em coming. It just keeps getting better.
  13. Oh, the sly GreyFox is at it again. I will agree that by YOUR calculations, Lexington is not farther north than 75% of the state. IF you agree that your calculations do not consider anything west of E'town. Which would make up 1/3 or more of the state, is all SOUTH of Lexington, and therefore makes Lexington farther NORTH than approximately 75% of the state.
  14. I love this one. I knew it would get better.
  15. If you would kindly go back and read previous posts, you would find that Louisville metro is excluded in this conversation as it had its own territory. But hey you are trying. Keep em coming. I can't wait to read the next one. Come on, you can do better.
  16. LOL. You folks are surely entertaining. This gets funnier as it goes. Keep em coming. Can't wait to hear the next one.
  17. Okay then, Lexington and Frankfort are farther NORTH than 75% of the state.
  18. I have always thought the intent of tournament play was to find the best team on a given night. Fake is telling everyone they have a chance in the first place, and then putting divisions in the equation that are unbalanced to say the least.
  19. I know that was rumored Purple. Logistically and financially it is probably far fetched to think you could seed 6 classes all the way out. That would be a nightmare. Seeding region champs would not be near the headache or financial burden. Logistics wouldn't be that great a deal if centralized locations were used. That is the only way I could see seeding ever being a possibility.
  20. Isn't the ultimate goal to, at least in theory, have the best two teams playing for the championship? If so, how else can it be done without seeding?
  21. The only thing you are missing is that Lexington is definitely not in the center of the state east to west and is slightly in the northern half. Etown is really close to the center east to west.
  22. Geography is the only thing that makes sense, what most people go by is old territorial areas.
