Also out of all the coaches you named did any of them go on to coach anywhere else with boys basketball? Edwards went on to coach the girls at Boyle but none of the others got a head job anywhere else and most aren't even coaching. Seems like if they were such great coaches another school would have swooped them up.

Britt said in the paper he didn't want to resign! It wasn't his choice to stay on another year. The administration chose to let him go. It wasn't that he chose to resign over dealing with parents. Mercer has some positive things going on and getting on here bad mouthing the community will not help with the next hire. If you truly care about the program and the future please get the facts straight as to why this coach isn't coming back next year.

I don't think it is fair to say this was over parent issues. I think it is more of spending money to take the basketball team to the bahamas and not having it paid for along with not winning games. Britt is not a bad guy but those two things are a bad combination

Mercer really needs to take their time and make th right hire. When Britt was hired it seems like it was handed over to him without seeing who else may be interested in the job.

So Mercer was pre season 24 last year and ended up playing in the state championship game.

You are right about Goodman he is a big piece that will be missing next year. Past him everyone one else can be replaced. There are a lot of important young pieces in place though coming back. QB is a huge question mark. Chris's younger brother could be the answer. He will be a sophomore and he was the freshman that scored the TD against Boyle in the playoff game.

Your so called sophomore laden team was stopped by a bunch of freshmen and sophomores from mercer. Your great defense got a TD scored on them by a mercer freshman. You better hope smith still has the magic wand because mercer is extremely young.

Does anyone know what is going on with Boyle losing enrollment? Everything i hear from my Boyle friends is that everyone is trying to find ways to transfer in there. It was odd to me that they were one of the schools that lost enrollment and were moving down a class?

Thank your own fans that the story was was the taunting and not the play of your team. Hopefully they will tone it down a little bit going forward so the good play of your team isn't overshadowed by some bad sportsmanship in the stands

When I played we won the 12th region so yeah I would say I have been to a few high school basketball games before. I didn't go to mercer and this is not about them but Boyle. They have to be smart enough to know that if you are going to taunt Cal's son then you are going to get blasted statewide and accept that and not cry about it when everyone is letting them have it. My personal opinion is I would be embarrassed if my school did this. If you don't feel that way then that is your opinion and is ok by me.

They weren't taunting him for his play or anything he did or could control. They taunted him because his dad is famous and that is lame. They made signs before the game started saying he wasn't a good player. Boyle can keep trying to justify it but for me something like this was not a surprise and typical of the fan base.

Me experience with boyle fans is that they like to dish it out but can't take in return. There was some crying going on about people celebrating on their field after a big game. But I guess it is ok to single out one player from the opposing team and disrespect the head Bball coach at uk.

This sounds like an excuse and not giving Mercer's defense credit. It couldn't be that Mercer has a good defense was able to stop Boyle's offense. Shouldn't Boyle be really familiar with Pardue's offense also?

There are a lot of people in this area that don't want to admit that mercer will now be a contender in this region for the foreseeable future. These kids have had tons of success from little league thru middleschool and it has not translated to high school until now because of inconsistency with the coaching staff over the last 4-5 years. Mercer has 2 freshman and a sophomore starting as their linebackers with a freshaman at CB. A freshman also scored a big TD Friday against Boyle. They will return all their skill guys next year except for QB. The future is bright for the Titans.

Titans had some young guys out there on defense. The final score was not a surprise if you saw the regular season game against Boyle
