Thoughts and predictions?

Having gone back the first game. And seeing some clips of Mercer against Dunbar, Knox Central and Boyle. All I can say right now is.....you first on predicting this.

 

The first game was one of LexCaths best and one of Mercers worst. The stats are very lopsided. There is nothing to be gleaned from that for this purpose.

 

Maybe post a prediction tomorrow.

For those who want watch the first game between these two this season:

 

This is one of the few games Mercer feels they gave away this season. I know the score was 34-6 LC but we shot ourselves in the foot over and over and over that game. I hope LC is expecting to see that Mercer this week. I hope LC is happy to see Mercer this week. The game will be much different this time around.

Does the LexCath announcer always do play by play? I don't think I have ever heard a PA guy do that. He describes the action like he is a radio announcer.

Not good. This year I have heard of several teams that have PA announcers doing this. I think the KHSAA is going to need to put some rules in place like Ohio has banning this.

Agree. I haven't heard this one, but I've heard others do it. They need to remember it ain't radio, and it ain't about them. We can see the game and the plays; just tell us who the players are. Less is almost always more.

I think he picks up on the commentary from the radio guys next door. It is not meant to be disruptive or distracting at all and he keeps pretty monotone through the action. Not saying I like it but most just get used to it.

 

Some think that that sort of announcing can impact play by 'telling' the player what is going on. After asking some players if they here it during action they tell you they do not even realize its happening at all.

 

Most fans have gotten used to it. But they still scratch their head at 'Sweat Caroline' being the closing song of the night. Neil Diamond fan apparently....

Boyle did a good job against it in the first meeting. Sometimes LexCath is their own worst enemy.

 

 

Can LexCath slow down Goodman? He's been on a tear lately.
