Great write up, always enjoy reading about the 11th! I think Henry Clay is still a good team, even though they lost that much. They just need the underclassmen from last year to step up, and they could be possibly the best team in the region when it's all said and done. No way LexCath is that tall. I doubt they have 2 players truly over 6-4. They are still a good team, will be great at shooting the ball. Definitely a lot of question marks in the region this year.

I'd put PCC above Lafayette at this point. I think Lafayette has lost too much from last year to be top 10 right now, but I could easily them there at the end.

You are right. Tyler played on the '07 championship team as a Junior i believe and Dylan his younger brother is a Senior. Not sure if he is playing this year, but he played last year. I don't think he's 20, but he's definitely not 18.

Top 5. A lot of teams will be good, not great. If Scott County can get consistent PG play and Raekwon Long can develop I would put them at the top for sure. 1.) Scott County 2.) Lafayette 3.) Lexington Christian (Could surprise some people) 4.) Henry Clay 5.) Franklin County (return a lot from a good team) 6.) Bryan Station (could probably move up, they just don't have much height as far as I know) 7.) Lexington Catholic I could easily be forgetting a few, but that's my list off the top of my head.

Davis will score twice as much as anyone on team. Lafayette won't be very deep and won't have a ton of experience returning, but they will contend for a district, maybe even a regional, championship. Sr. G Lance Blakley (6-3 or 6-4 range) is a decent scorer. He has good skill for his height. Sr. G DeQuise Robinson (5-9 or 5-10 range) is a quick guard who will play good defense and put up some transition buckets. So. G Harrison Lane (5-11 range) is a good shooter. So. F Ross Jenkins (6-6 range) will be the only person down low helping Davis. He is really good for a sophomore for his height. I would look for Davis to easily average 20 and 10 again.

Sure the teams they played don't have winning records, but it's not like they are playing 20 man teams. They are still 6A teams. While the strength of schedule might hurt them in the long run, I don't think we should let it stop us from discussing them among the best in the state. They are still a great team.

Was this with or without Scott Daniel? I know he had had a minor injury, wasn't sure how minor.

Guard play will be good not great. It will definitely be a major question throughout the season if the guards will be able to get it done consistently. So. G Harrison Lane (son of Transy coach) is a great shooter. He got some clock last year as a freshman, so i would expect that he gets an increased work load. Jackson Davis can knock down some shots as a big man, but i doubt he will be playing out on the perimeter much. If i had to guess right now i'd say Scott County is the favorite for the region. I wouldn't count out LCA (great shooting team, and has some height), Henry Clay (lost a lot, but lets not forget they still have Jordan Green and Jeremiah Tisdale), and Bryan Station (really deep at the guard spots, not sure if they have much height down low though). It should be another good year in the 11th!

Just as an update -Jr. F Shon Wright and Sr. G Toryan Whiting aren't with the team -5 freshman will play varsity (probably won't see clock, still a great freshman class regardless) - Only 1 Jr. on team (Varsity or Junior Varsity) -The main players will be Sr. F Jackson Davis 6-8 210 Sr. G Lance Blakley 6-4 190 Sr. G DeQuise Robinson 5-9 150 So. G Harrison Lane 5-11 145 So. F Ross Jenkins 6-6 210 Jr. G Lucky Jackson 6-1 170 The Generals will definitely make a push for the 11th region title. They have a solid schedule, good leadership, A Mr. Basketball candidate in Jackson Davis, and several other college players

When you see players of his size at that age, they usually don't have that skill set. I could easily see him being the best player in his class (2019)

Kyle Rode is probably who you are talking about. About 6-4 maybe. Plays AAU with Hoop Dreams. Really good player especially considering he's a 7th grader!

I would like to see Lafayette win, but i think Lexington Catholic is just too talented for the Generals to overcome

Lafayette looks to be on of the favorites in the 11th this year lead by Mr. Basketball candidate Sr. F Jackson Davis 6-8 210, who played this summer with the Kentucky Travelers in the EYBL. The Generals have a good second option in Jr. F Shon Wright 6-6, who was one of the better 2015 players, but has been sidelined recently due to injury. Lafayette will also return and expect bigger roles from Sr. G Lance Blakely 6-2 and Sr. G Dequise Robinson 5-10. That backcourt tandem logged quality minutes last season and even started a few games. So. G Harrison Lane 5-11, Sr. G Toryan Whiting 5-11, Jr. G Dontavion "Lucky" Jackson 6-1, So. F Ross Jenkins 6-6 will need to be good quality role players especially since the Generals will need the depth with their up tempo press style of play. The Generals will lose some good seniors from last year (G Tranard Chester 6-3- EKU Football, F Nick Trisko 6-8- DII Basketball, G/F Aaron Evans 6-4- Transylvania, and F Charles Sweat-Washington 6-6- JUCO Basketball) and a few transfers as well (Jr. G from last year Anthony Groves 5-8 moved back to Scott County where he was originally from, and Jr. G Gavin Owsley 5-10 150 transferred to Bourbon County where he will be with other former General Charles "Snoop" Johnson). With Henry Clay not as strong as they were, Dunbar losing so many seniors, Tates Creek losing a lot of their talent, and Bryan Station not having a solid post presence- Lafayette looks to be the top Lexington Public High School. Scott County seems to be the favorite right now for the region, but I wouldn't count out the Generals, nor would I Lexington Catholic or Lexington Christian. Lafayette's schedule has them in the Gonzaga DC Classic (December 13-15), King of the Bluegrass Tournament (December 19-23), Republic Bank Holiday Classic (December 26-30), Toyota Classic (January 22-25), and the Jock Sutherland Classic (February 8) where they will play Lexington Catholic. Some non region games would include Louisville Trinity on February 14, and Boyle County February 20- Their last game before District. Lafayette will be able to depend on Jackson Davis throughout the season as he has started V since 8th grade. If the underclassmen of last year can step up, Shon Wright becomes 100%, and the backcourt meshes well- look for big things from the Generals.

I think if he stays at Scott County and develops there instead of transferring every year and never really getting comfortable like we see a lot of players today do, he could be a special player. Playing for one of the best coaches to do it in Coach Hicks will have its benefits.
