  1. Pretty sure everyone said that yesterday when SHA played Manual, and when Campbell played GRC the other night....
  2. Here is the link for the broadcast: KY HS Girls Basketball - 8th Region Rd 1 - Oldham Co. vs. Gallatin Co. 2-26-18 6:
  3. Everything you are saying is true. Ally has worked hard to get back. And you are right, any team that gets a player of her caliber back in their lineup is bound to be better for it. And I agree 1000% that they must play TEAM BASKETBALL. Again, as I've said before, practically everyone on here knows who I am, and I'll say one thing I know for sure, my daughter could care less about these all tourney, MVP's or whatever awards right now. She has enough hardware to melt down and and make a statue of something lol..she already has her future commitment set. Her focus is on winning and getting to the State Tournament for the final time in her high school career. I'm pretty sure if you asked Ally she would say the same. I think that sometimes the parents ( me too at times) put more emphasis on individual achievements than the kids do. Every parent is proud to see their kid be recognized for their achievements, but some in their zeal to have their kid succeed and get awards and what not, they forget to teach them that they are part of a team and its teamwork that wins championships. My favorite quote is, " Its amazing what you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit".
  4. I'm looking for this to be a close 3 to 4 pt. game with Walton winning on their home floor.
  5. Thought I would throw my 2 cents in..as a former scout I have talked to a number of athletes, coaches and parents. The student athletes of today are being forced in many cases to choose what sport to "specialize" in at earlier and earlier ages. There are a number of reasons why..1)many of the kids and their parents are told if they want to play at the next level, this is what they have to do..2) many coaches demand year round participation in their sport and off season programs in order for them to be on the team and give little to no leniency to those who do not conform.(do you see where im going with this?) The ironic thing is when you talk to college coaches most like to see kids that play multiple sports because they say it shows the athlete is multi talented but mostly it shows they can be coached by different coaches with different styles and philosophies. My daughter played multiple sports throughout grade school into middle school but in seventh grade she decided on her own basketball was her love and quit playing all other sports, much to the chagrin of my wife who played softball up into college lol...There is a big difference between a kid that chooses to make that decision and one that is forced to. And now I'll step on some toes... a lot of the blame imo rests on the shoulders of the H.S. and club coaches. Im not saying every coach, but if you're a parent and have had a kid playing sports you know what I mean. But some blame must fall on some parents who, and believe me I understand, shell out hundreds if not thousands of dollars to club teams for fees, travel, and the thing that irks me the most, Admission to the events. Some of these parents decide that since they're shelling out that cash that their kid is going to specialize in that sport. I had a kid that i was interviewing for the program we had and was a stud. All Region, All State honorable mention. Played AAU ball all through middle school through junior yr. The dad had the check book on the table ready to sign him up and I was thinking about what I was going to do with the commission check I would be getting lol! It was a lock! Then I asked him one simple question...Is playing college ball your dream? Is it what you want? His answer...NO..I guess my point is to parents, talk to your kids about what they really want; dreams, goals..you will save yourself a big let down at the end of the journey and probably save some money along the way.
  6. We had a chance to meet Shayla and her parents last fall at a college visit. Awesome young lady and great parents. Alot of colleges are missing out on a very talented young lady because they seem to be concerned about her height. Congrats and good luck!

  8. Just speculating, but maybe Taft needed a couple 2 or 3 games to fill up their schedule because they also played Dixie, and maybe one other..
  9. Looked like they made the perfect play call for the situation. You run that play 10 fimes and my money is on Clos to finish it 9 of 10 times. Just tough luck on that one. Would've loved to have seen this game and see CC pull out the win not only for themselves but for all of NKY!
  10. Was there a reason behind the 75 point beat down by SHA over Atherton on Tuesday? Not taking sides on whether it was right or wrong, just wondering if there was a statement to be made or something like that. For the record I believe if you are going to play at a certain level, you must accept the reality that something like this may happen from time to time. But I also believe that there comes a point in a game such as this where a coach can institute certain things to "call off the dogs" so to speak. I have no idea what went on during this game so that's why I'm asking.
  11. Final from the Louisville Invitational Tournament. The Pioneers looked sluggish in this one, maybe because of the physical game from last evening, BUT not taking away anything from Male. They are big, fast, and very physical. The Pioneers made way too many forced and unforced errors, but managed to hang around till about the end of the 3rd. Stamper 18, Harmeyer 18, Jones 9, Buckner 4, Vickers 3, Krohman 2.
  12. You are right about the score, my mistake! Yes Jordan did play, although how much I'm not sure.
  13. SK- Harmeyer 16(16 reb), Jones 15, Krohman 8, Stamper 6, Buckner 6 (11 reb), Vickers 6 Sorry no stats for Conner: heard Burcham had 15.
  14. Kelly Niece - Cooper at sk. Game tied with 8.1 seconds... | Facebook The game winner
  15. I concur with 7's comments. Campbell is loaded. I have been around the '18 girls on that team and they are studs. If I had to pick, I would pick CC by 14+, but you never know.
  16. I was making the comment that the same thing was said before that game...jeez why so touchy? Settle down..
  17. I heard the same sentiment when SK played Trimble in the 8th Region final 2 yrs ago..
  18. Final from Allen Co. Scottsville H.S. Harmeyer led SK with 22 pts. Jones with 19. The Lady Pioneers play Upperman (Baxter) TN. in semi final action on Friday.
