  1. Impressive no doubt. There is a massive amount of talent in the class 2018..IMO it has a lot to do with the AAU programs. Seems to me like this group has more kids that are 1 sport athletes that play their sport year round. This list encompasses the 2018 group in the 8th-9th-10th Regions. Besides, you folks in Lou. Metro area don't care about Northern Ky! (JUST A JOKE PEOPLE DONT GET ALL WORKED UP!!LOL)
  2. If I missed someone my apologies. Source-KHSAA scoreboard as of 1/23/15 Freshmen class of 2018 northern/north central Ky. Minimum 15 Varsity games- PPG 1) Clos- Campbell Co. 17.2 2) Neace -SK 15.8 3) Clephane -Scott 14.1 4) Held Cooper 12.9 5) Stapleton Scott. 12.1 6) Harmeyer Grant Co. 10.3 7) Englemon Holmes 8.4 Very talented group of young ladies. The next few yrs should be exciting.
  3. Story in a nut shell... Crusaders played well, dominant in every aspect. Grant came out flat and had no answer for Savannah Neace. Typical horrible officiating both ways..Harmeyer with 11 to lead Grant.. Only bright spot for Lady Braves-Macy Wright scored her 1000th point. Congratulations Macy!
  4. Thank you for validating my opinion of the officiating!
  5. Im sorry, I only have stats for Grant. I do know Wilson,VanZant, and I believe the Reeves girl all had big games... Two of them scored in double figures, one of them in the twenties, like 24... Very nice team...wasn't downgrading the Dragons with my original post, they did play a good game. I just get tired of the horrible inconsistency of the officials this year.
  6. That is an awesome accomplishment! Really sets the bar...excited about getting to see her live in action in a couple of weeks..also plays for a very good HC
  7. Final from Dry Ridge.. Game was much closer than score indicates. 4 point game with less than 4 minutes left in game. Lady Braves had 2 leads in game and let them slip away...again. Freshman Harmeyer led Grant with 16pts, Wright with 14, Ruebusch with 12. Officiating same as usual .. Let them beat on each other in the 1st half and then call every ticky tack thing in the 2nd half. So over refs taking over games.. LET THEM PLAY BALL!!!!! Or at least be consistent for the whole game please.. Just once this year, not a lot to ask is it? I do root for Grant, but I dont care who wins except when the officiating is not consistent, which from what I've seen and read about all season is the norm these days.
  8. Shows a lot of class for the Bracken program..thoughts and prayers to the family
  9. Struggling is putting it mildly...when you jump out to an 8-1 lead and hold a team to 4 points in the quarter you would think it would motivate a team to put the pedal to the metal..but not this team. this was roughy the 6th or 7 th game where this team has either led the whole game or actually comeback and take a lead only to give it away at the end. With the exception of the Highlands and the 2nd SK game which were blowouts, this team has played every game close and either had a lead late or comeback to take a lead late and end up losing. The biggest problem is if Wright or Harmeyer don't score- either one scores into high teens or twenties or maybe both score 14-16 pts each, they are toast. Ruebusch has been a factor in a couple games but not consistently. No consistent help scoring wise from anyone else. But they also need to play better defense without fouling. It's hard to win when you put your opponent in the double bonus early in each half.. And then there are the turnovers..a lot of them unforced. I also think the heartbreak loss to WV where they came all the way back from 12 down and actually took the lead, and then being blownout at home by SK after leading them in the 1st meeting the whole game and losing to them in the final 2 min took a lot of the heart out of this team. Hopefully they can right the ship by districts.
  10. 2nd round win for coach West and the Lady Braves at the Carolina Invitational in Charleston. Still waiting for recap of game but have the scoring: Wright 16 Harmeyer 12 Kearns 12 Chaidez & Ruebusch 3 each McCoy 2
  11. She is doing well this year. She's currently on the radar of the University of Maryland.
  12. The Lady Braves won in convincing fashion Saturday in the first round of the Carolina Invitational in Charleston, South Carolina beating Beaufort H.S. 61-39. The report I got from the coaching staff was this; the team got off to a slow start shooting and only shot 31% for the game but had 34 offensive rebounds (59 total) that allowed them to shoot 83 shots in the game. They led by 11 at the half and won by 22. They also forced 34 turnovers in the game. Macy Wright led with 12 pts, 7 Rebs, 3 assists and 3 steals. Shelby Harmeyer was next with 10 pts, 9 Rebs, 7 assists. Madisyn Ruebusch had 9 pts and 8 Rebs.
  13. Nice bounce back for the Lady Braves after a very disappointing performance against Williamstown the night before. Braves where in control from the tip with a 12-0 run to start the game. The shooting improved a little, (21-68 overall but 43% behind the arc) but needs to improve vastly to compete against stronger teams. 33 rebounds in the game many of which equated to 2nd chance points. Freshman Shelby Harmeyer was high scorer in the game with 16 pts. and 8 rebounds. She also went 5-5 from the free throw line. Shelby also scored 16 pts the night before against Williamstown. Jr. EJ Kearns scored 13pts including 4-7 from 3pt range (57%). Macy Wright contributed 10 pts. other scorers were Tyrsten Cummins with 8, Madisyn Ruebusch with 7, Lindsey Kinard with 6, Jordan Allen with 5, Tiana Thornberry with 5, Karlyn McCoy with 3, and Bryann Ezell with 2. Owen is very young again this year, starting all freshmen and sophomores and 1 senior. With the experience they gained last year and this year I believe they will be tough and very experienced in a few years.
  14. I was at the GC/HHS game and I thought it was bad, but not nearly as bad as it was at SK the night before. The difference in the 2 games is the bad officiating didn't affect the outcome in the HHS game, but when 6 starters foul out of a game and there is close to 50 fouls called like the GC/SK game I think it does have an effect on the outcome. There were 2 fouls called on shooters, one on each team and all they did was get the ball and go up and shoot jumpers..very confusing...
  15. You are right about the defense RC.. got to watch in action Friday night at GC.. very stifling and in your face. What is your take on the officiating so far this season?
  16. Gee, imagine that -4 of the 5 starters fouled out...LET THE KIDS PLAY REFS!!!!! It's getting so bad in the area it's stupid. Maybe all the varsity teams should start their reserve players so that the starters will have a fighting chance of being in the game at the end! Getting so sick of seeing the zebras dictate the outcome of so many games!!
