  1. Ok.. For the sake of getting this one started here goes: IMO.. That key word "IF" IF this team gels and plays team ball they will be hard to beat. IF they are all on their "A" game at the same time NOBODY beats them. IF this team stays healthy and at least one of the 2 above factors come to pass they should be playing in the sweet 16 a couple of miles up the road in March. They have outstanding coaching. The top 7-9 players on the team have a lot of big game experience eg: State tourney, AAU, EBYL, USJN and GNBA. They can score inside and out, forcing opponents to "pick their poison" as to which player they want to choose to defend because you can't double every player on the floor at the same time. The scariest thing of all is that the core of this team will be together for the next 3 years. By this season's end all 5 starters could be worthy of All Region consideration, and 2 or 3 possibly All State consideration. Again, this is just my opinion so please take it in that vein
  2. Definitely not mid season form, but played well against a pretty quick team with some size. Could tell there were some nervousness but it was to be expected. The bigs I thought played very nice.
  3. SK won the first half by 10. Play was a little sloppy in in the 2nd half but SK won it by 1.
  4. Last year they played 2 -20 minute halves if I remember correctly, starting the score over in the 2nd half
  5. Even though they are only scrimmages, there are some interesting match ups this weekend in Georgetown. It will be fun to get a little preview of what should be a very interesting season for Ky. Girl's basketball!
  6. Congratulations Hailey! I know papa's beaming! See you guys in about a month
  7. I agree with most of the picks. While I totally disagree with Owen and Spencer in the top 10, I believe Alex Clifton from Owen County deserves some love. Her numbers stack up well against the other bigs on this list. And to come back from the knee injury as she did is a testiment to her drive and toughness.
  8. Maybe this year Mr. Herndon will come up north in the region and watch some games
  9. Hmmmmm, sounds a lot like team I know....
  10. True...one thing I heard was that Aly Ast should return this season after a knee injury. That would definitely make them a better team. Love her style, good player that plays very hard.
  11. Not judging by their record this year...biggest ? I have here is what in the wild world of sports is going on with HHS football this year...oops wrong thread😁
  12. Brooke Davis has the potential to be a beast.
  13. Not going to dispute your thought on the lineup, or the statement about defense. But is it advantageous to have a player that consistently averages 12 to 14 pts a game and 5 to 7 REBS a game as a starter sitting on the bench? Also, both girls (Neace and Harmeyer) showed vast improvement on their defensive skills during the summer scrimmages. Both girls are working very hard this summer to improve their games in every aspect. Harmeyer scored 74 pts in 2 days over 3 games at the Run for the Roses Tournament this past weekend. I would sacrifice a little defensively if I had a player posting those kind of numbers on a consistent basis if I were the coach.
  14. True... Those 2 are gonna be studs and there is a 3rd kid who is coming in that is going to be huge... This only his 3rd year playing fb but has the potential to be maybe the best of the bunch with the right coaching... Saw him lock up a kid that was almost his size and drive him down the field like Michael Ohr did in the movie!
  15. 2 big strong kids that have transferred into the district this year. Both are very gifted athletes with high football IQ's. They are 8th graders and both WILL make big impacts in the coming years. Good students and products of good families..I coached them both and I'm telling you they are for real.
  16. Good luck to SK this year..and wait till you see what's coming down the pike...not gonna bore you with numbers and stuff..just gonna give you 2 names SK fans.. C. Bush and Q. Carr... Remember those names. Absolute studs..
  17. Congratulations to Simon Kenton guard Allyson Niece (2018) on receiving a scholarship offer from Xavier University. Well deserved!
  18. The Cincinnati Enquirer and the Community Recorder newspapers announce NKY girls basketball All Stars. Check out the story on Cincinnati.com
