  1. The winner has to be the Campbell County guy because so many people hate him. Good job Greg, keep getting on the visitors nerves!
  2. Thankyou Mr Righteous! I guess your the bluebird version of UKfan? No disrespect to to you UKfan!
  3. really don't know why a kid wouldn't play a sport for one year because of a coach, if that's the case. We've all played enough sports to realize we haven't seen eye to eye with every coach. Its even more presumptuous not to play for someone, based on someone else's opinion, without finding out for yourself. Maybe the kid doesn't want to play and blaming someone else is an easy out, who knows? What are NCC's freshman numbers, does anyone know? I'd like to know what their numbers are like this year as compared to the past 5 years before I'd have an opinion about coaching.
  4. Cooper still sputtering, I hope they don't decide to get it together against NCC. NCC 28 -Cooper 7
  5. I agree, we aren't here to bash any kid, that's unfair to them. I asked the question about position because of what you stated earlier. Just sayin'.
  6. I have to agree with Mexitucky. They won, now move on and fix the small things. Hey Jack, what position didn't perform as a playmaker? I read the paper and other comments on BGP and it seems as though most were happy with the way things went, they won.
  7. Highland's wins easily, but I don't see Dale running up the score on his boy
  8. They've had nothing since. Fuller and Walker were good athlete's and the perfect storm formed for a state championship. I'm not taking anything away from that, but they got hot at the right time. I would say look at what they have done since, not good. Beal is a good back, but he doesn't have the supporting cast like Fuller and Walker had.
  9. I agree with you on the turnovers. I just couldn't figure out why Ashland didn't give the ball to Baker more. NCC has some speed on the edges and looked to be coached very well, but man, they couldn't stop him outside. Once Ashland got behind they had to throw the ball a little and that isn't their strong point. I'm not giving Raceland their due because I haven't seen them play, but from what I've seen from Baker if he gets going it might be a long night for Raceland.
  10. I don't get it, first game on new field and we're talking about parking? How did Avery look at QB? Did they run the ball well? There's been a lot of talk about Zabonik (sp), was he as advertised? New backs, new lineman, c'mon anything but parking!
  11. Ashland wins this game 35 - 7. Baker will be a legit D-1 back his senior year, the kid can flat out fly. The NCC game is a lot closer if he touches the ball more.
  12. This gets ugly fast. HC's last 2 jv and frosh teams have been subpar, no size or speed. The only thing preventing SK from putting up 70 is the running clock and that still might happen.
  13. Here is where the girls take advantage with the weight classes. Most high school females who win do so at the lower weights. At this weight most 15 - 17 year old girls are wrestling boys who are in grade school or middle school because the high school boys struggle to maintain weight. At his point the girls are so much more physically stronger and mentally tougher. The high school's move the younger kids up so they don't automatically lose by default and have a possible chance of winning a match.
  14. NCC is the team to beat hands down! The middle school talk might have 1% credibility but that's about it. So many kids change their mind about what sport they want to play and where they play it. To think people are associating a middle school championship with a high school state championship is far reaching. Caldwell thinks they are the "heir to the throne" because they were runner up last year and Somerset is, well Somerset. Fact is, NCC beat both and until one of them even makes it to the championship being considered #2 or #3 is not a slap in the face.
  15. The door being opened to the NKYFL championship happened as a consequence of the Red Devils not being able to play games at Campbell County High School. With the edition of the middle school teams years back the grass field couldn't take all of the wear. When the Red Devils were informed to find a new home field they were able to secure HHS. I don't think its fair to blame HHS of taking advantage of being able to provide a better surface to play for the pee wee teams at the end of the season, because Mills Rd was usually a mud hole at the end. Dixie, CovCath, Beechwood all had local teams in the NKYFL and could have provided a field for the championship game but choose not too. I do believe it's a tool to showcase your facility but, I think its more a financial purpose than for recruiting.
  16. Yes. Heard Tommy looked exceptionally smooth and Wyatt was quick. Tommy is going to tough to handle at 6'5 with good hands. He could possibly see a lot of double coverage this year opening up opportunity for other players. Still early, let's see how it plays out.
  17. Couldn't disagree with you more. Until NCC is knocked out they are still the team to beat. Teams lose players every year and come back and win it again. You have to chemistry and talent. Losing a couple key players can totally ruin your chemistry and a team can fall flat on their face. NCC might not have that stand out player they are use to having but this group looks to have a bunch of kids that cheer one another on, and that's a big plus. The only thing that I would agree with you is that it is harder to do it at the smaller schools because of the numbers game, but that's a different thread.
  18. I spoke with one of their coach's from last year and he indicated the passing game will be the strength this year. He didn't give a lot of specifics, but indicated the receivers were the going to make a large impact.
  19. Brossart numbers are really low, all of the freshman are playing w/ the varsity. Beechwood wouldn't have had a freshman team if they didn't move up 8th graders to play. At NC and Brossart its hard to move up kids to the freshman level when you don't know if that kid is going to play there, especially when tuition is involved.
