Don't kid yourself, Beechwood might be young but they are seasoned. Although young, their offense has been together for a couple years and can score. Stringer (sp) will be a handful for any 1A defense and the Oline will flat out get after you.

Football Coach Fired for Giving Players Creatine
strawberryshakeman replied to Ram's topic in KY Football (High School)
My wife is a school teacher and she could get fired for giving a kid an aspirin. Most of us understand that this guy wasn't trying to hurt anyone, but in this ultra sensitive society we live in, it wasn't a good move. Funny thing about it, this was probably the second dose of creatine they were getting that day because their parents were suppling the first one. -

How about Alex Connelly? Didn't he break a lot of the receiving records at Covcath as well as being a state champ in track? -
How many Frosh does NCC project to have?
strawberryshakeman replied to Oldbird's topic in KY Football (High School)
Most of the kids go to Brossart. I would say the problem is hardly any of the St Joe kids are playing football like they did in the past. Right now, there are only 2 seniors, 4 juniors (2 transfers from Brossart), sophs?, don't know how many freshman yet. Newcath use to post in the program the grade school where the kids come from, I don't think they do that anymore, it would be nice if they did. -

You couldn't be more wrong. The VAST go to Brossart. -

St Joe isn't considered a feeder school for Newcath, they are suppose to go to Brossart. Many of the St Joe kids that go to Covcath live up on the hill in Wilder. It seems as though "feeder school" boundary's are only questioned when the kids from Taylor Mill would think about coming to NewCath, but for some reason the super let's the Campbell Co. contingent cross the river. Is he biased? You don't see to many open house signs in Taylor Mill for NCC,but you sure do see plenty of Covcath signs in Wilder. Anyway, its probably more of an argument for Brossart than Newcath when it come to feeder schools. From what I know the kids that go to Covcath aren' t playing football anyway, so it doesn't matter from that standpoint. -
Can't we all just get along? I said in another thread that CCHS is my suprise team this year. Hell, i would think everyone in this thread hopes that CCHS has a great season. That would send a message to teams all over the state the "Campbell County" is a tough region for football with all of these schools being less than a couple of miles from one another. How cool would it be to have a 2, 4, and 6A champion in the same county, and have Beechwood and Cooper follow up with 1 and 5A championships.

It's a tough draw all the way around. Highland's definitely got the best draw w/ St H. -

We've all been here before, but you can't run from your problems. If we quit our jobs because we didn't like what the boss said or did, we'd all be unemployed. My advice to the kid, play ball, do what's asked of you and move on. High school doesn't last forever. but the decisions you make now you can regret the rest of your life. I've seen the kid play and he can be dominate. He'll get noticed by a lot of colleges no matter if he gets along with the caoching staff or not. -

It's not a half empty perspective. Go back 10 years and find any player who has the same averages as any of these players and see if they have made a dramatic impact at the next level. My point is not to be critical, but to be realistic. I've stated it before, Northen Ky is a weak basketball region although competitive within itself. I wonder if the local college coaches feel the same way because I don't see too many local kids on the current rosters ? -

Don't know about basketball. Avery played QB his freshman year and maybe some jv. He's a versatile kid and good ath maybe that's why he 's probably going to be the qb. If Wilson is playing AAU basketball maybe that's not sitting too well with Lickert? -

Great talent in NKY? The talent in NKY is mediocre at best. Who's being considered for Mr Basketball? Who's scoring a double / double? Who's dishing out (averaging) double digit assists? Who's scoring over 20 point a game? Bolden and Hatton are the only two who fit this mold. While Schuh, Trentman and McDonald all are good players, there is nothing special about their game. Pangallo would be a bench player with Bolden and Hatton on the court. While he handles the ball well he's not as polished as the other two. -

The Simon Kenton vs the East/West Allstars game this year won't be close. SK will probably walk away with that game. -

I saw Matt Wilson out in his baseball uniform and looked on the skinny side ,so I don't think he's been doing a lot of off season conditioning. I'm sure he's going to be a talented player but he needs to mature a lot more. On the other hand, Avery is a gamer and will do just fine at QB. Campbell County is my underdog team this year. They've got some big/good players up front and their skill players are fast. It seems as though the players and parents are buying into coach Leichert's (sp) approach on making CC better. -

Bolden from Holmes is the only legit player. 9th region basketball is competitive within itself, but for a metro area is the weakest in the state. Hatton is as good as he is going to get, McDonald is a big body and should score 15 points because of his size, and who can be called a 5 when most of the current group besides Schulte is between 6-4 and 6-6. -

It's always nice to see the younger kids get a shot. Pitching isn't the problem for this years team, it's hitting. When you look at the box score it's the same names producing hits and runs. They've got to figure out how to get the rest of the team involved or they won't make another run for a state title. -
New football stadium at Campbell County?
strawberryshakeman replied to 2 Humped Camel's topic in KY Football (High School)
Great stadium that's long overdue. It should've been built when the school was first built. Anyone talking trash about it is just jealous.
