NewCath's Tyler Lyon will be making an unoffical visit to Ball St. this weekend to tour the facilities and take in the spring game. Lyon has been on the Cardinals radar since the beginning of last season. Since the end of this past season, the Jr. tight end/defensive end has been on a serious workout regiment with his father and is up to 6'5" & 195. Next week the defense/special teams coach from Memphis will be paying him a visit and he is also getting interest from Ivy League school Penn.

 

Lyon is the son of former 7 year NFL vet Billy Lyon who played DE/DT for the Packers and Vikings, and also at Lloyd High School and collegiately at Marshall.

Had me sold at 6'5" although I don't remember him at all in last years games- atleast the 2 NCC games I saw.

Did he play for NCC this year? I am not trying to be flip. I really don't remember him and I saw several NCC games.

I know his dad game me nightmares one Friday night.

OSU signed a kid from Moeller that is 6'5 and plays safety. He may end up at DE by the time he's done. Crazy.

Caught 6 passes, 3 for TD's (3 more TD passes called back on penalties) 2 forced fumbles for TD's.

You sure you were at any of the games lol. Led the def in sacks. One thing most people need to realize, for more than half their games this year, most the starters didn't play but half a game most the time due to blowing teams out.

Tyler met with Defensive Coordinator and Special Teams coach yesterday on his visit. Also, found out today that Austin Peay and Army are looking at him.

Number 45 he scored against SK. He has the frame to add more weight. His dad was was a stud.

I got to see a few games last year and this kid can flat out play. Long and lean, just what recruiters are looking for these days. If he's getting hits from the mid majors, he'll definitely draw interest from the bigger schools by mid season.
