There was zero chance of Puig coming here, but if they did make the offer its hard to turn down a 3 hole hitter with 4 more years of control. No matter how much of a head case he is
They'll start making moves after tomorrow. Cueto will be the first one to go off of this team then others will be moved. If it gets to Thursday and nothing has been done I will panic.
The Cubs would be first in the NL East so thy are doing very good this year. The Cards have been just too good this year for people to keep up. I think they can get into the wild card.
So yeah they've had recent success. Anyway, look at their top prospects in the minors, most are all offensive guys. Now they might need a little more balance, but I really like their philosophy.
I think the Reds need to take the best prospects they feel they get in return for their guys. So if it's a stud pitcher, go for it. But look at the Cubs recent success with all the offense that has come up through the system. I think the Reds need to focus on getting offensive threats back.
The schedule is really favorable this year, 8 home games is a huge advantage. And the road games are against teams they really can beat besides UGA.
Wins-
ULL
UF
EKU
MSU
Vandy
CHA
UL
7-5 is my prediction. This season all depends on the MSU game. They shouldn't be that good this year so I think UK can go down there and win it.
AJ Reed will eat himself out of the game if he's not careful. Heck of a ball player, but he needs to stay in the AL. His defense is really below average so a DH gives him an opportunity to make it.
Don't know why they would trade for a catching prospect when they already have a young guy in the majors and have a few guys already in the system. Especially since they just drafted one in the first round.
Jason Vargas of the Royals just went down for the year. They are really going to need another starter now. I'm guessing they might be able work some magic out for Cueto
It's that time of year where "unamed sources" come up with "injury" speculation. Anything a source talks about fear of him being injured take it with a grain of salt. People are just trying to install fear and bring the asking price down.
I still think it was the hour delay that caused the issue. I think his next start he should be fine. It looked more mechanical than anything really.
But that could be because he was injured. His whole trade stock could hinge on this next start. 2 clunkers in a row is one thing, but if you make it 3 then it is a trend. Can't have that happen.
It was one of the stranger games I've watched in a while. Didn't know what was worse, the Indians inability for them to hit with the bases loaded, or the Reds inability to throw a strike with the bases loaded.
