  1. I was impressed with the varsity point guard (#10 I think) and the Center (#32) and obviously the shooter (#1) but there was a kid in JV that was scoring all the points with the big hair. Are any of those the kids you are talking about?
  2. Thanks for the post. It's excellent. We haven't seen any updates on the eighth region since the preason post several months ago.
  3. Congratulations. I hope he leads them to the D2 championship!
  4. For SK, Childress had several corner threes. I don't recall ever seeing him miss one of those! Kuntz had some big blocks. For GC, I was really impressed with #1 and the point guard (#10 I think) but the spark was #32. He played with incredible tenacity and seemed determined to bring them back with key plays on offense and defense. Block. Steal. Lay up. 3 pointer. Drawing fouls. I was very impressed. Honestly, I love SK but GC seemed to "want it" more. Unfortunately for them SK is just more talented.
  5. It looked like it was going to be a rout early by SK. I think they were up 17 in the third quarter. Great job by Grant County to come back and take the lead in the last couple of minutes and almost win!
  6. I would say Conference Championship. If you make it to the Superbowl and lose, at lest you made it. As a kid I played in a lot of tournaments in various sports. It was always better to make it to the final game and lose than not even make it (at least we got silver trophies or medals!).
  7. Have you seen Justin Johnson and Braxton Beverly from PCC play? i haven't seen everyone on this list but I did see PCC play and Justin Johnson is an extremely dominant low post player and seems worthy of top 10 status. Braxton Beverly is one of the best point guards I've seen in the state but probably not top 10 yet.
  8. He played well. He always give 100%. Love his game. It was unfortunate at the end when he fouled McNeill from behind shooting a 3 with .5 seconds left in a tie game. Hopefully he has short term memory.
  9. Looks good. I keep waiting for Ryle to climb up the ladder a little. They beat Cooper and SK and kept it close against Boone and Dixie.
  10. We should have a much clearer picture on 1st and 2nd when they face off this Thursday in Independence.
  11. This looks pretty accurate although Ryle just beat Simon Kenton and Cooper last week yet they continue to hang around the 9 or 10 spot. I guess due to some close wins against "bad" teams? Also, the trend continues of Holmes being left off of a ballot.
  12. He started the game so it couldn't have been anything off the court. I didn't see any blatant turnover or bad shot or anything that happened on the court. He was subbed out and never came back in. The only explanation is that there was an exchange when he came out that upset the coach enough to bench him for the rest of the game. I know you say it makes no sense but there are certainly instances where it could be warranted. (for example, what if he came out and said you are an awful coach or something like that). I highly doubt that is what happened I am just saying there are situations where it is warranted and there must have been a good reason. No coach likes to lose. Plus, isn't the message to the rest of the team: I believe in you and I think we can win without our best player.
  13. Benched for almost the entire game by the coach. We'll see on Tuesday if he is back in Steiner's good graces.
  14. 7 Newport Catholic 5 Lloyd Memorial 3 Mason County 2 Dixie Heights 1 Carroll County TB Lloyd Memorial
  15. Just like last night against Ryle turnovers continue to hurt the Neers. Other than that it was a good game. Kuntz continues to have ridiculously impressive blocks. Johnson and Beverly are the real deal!
  16. UKFan... You changed your name? I hope it's a competitive game for Simon Kenton. They are good team but I'm not sure how long they can hang with PCC. I'd be happy with a 10 point loss.
