Do you play or coach? Did you play? If you're a fan and something can improve the quality of play, shouldn't you be for it? Its not a little difference. Virtually any football on the market is different and superior. Much larger, slicker, and poorly made. The Rawlings balls are essentially ruined if it rains. The size and shape is the worst difference. I have NFL QB sized hands and struggle to grip it due to size and texture, let alone most high school QBs.

Don't know about Planck but Jordan hasn't. He's just a junior. 6"9' and brings the heat. According to PBR, #8 overall prospect nationally for 2017.

No, I don't think they will. I think they're that out of touch that they didn't think coaches had a problem with Rawlings.

The more I think about it the more I hate Rawlings balls.

Rawlings balls aren't made as good as Nike Vapors or Wilsons. Fatter and slicker. Not made as well either IMO.

Outside of QB, I think being a D1 RB recruit is as extremely difficult as it gets. At least with many of the other positions it is about measurables (you know if you're a Offensive Tackle and aren't at least 6"5', 280 lbs. you probably aren't getting a D1 offer). As a state we may send less D1 RBs than any other position. It is kind of seen as a position that players really don't grow into, they either have it or they don't. An Offensive Lineman is going to get bigger, stronger and more fundamentally sound in his technique in college. RBs are what they are. Seems like there is the least expected growth from that position in college.

Always good for kids to go to a camp with some actual action going on. One on ones, throwing, catching, etc. Just about every school puts them on. Combines are good too.

The schools at the biggest disadvantages are in the Louisville and Lexington areas. It is not the small schools there who usually do the complaining. My school is small (medium 2A) and has never made it to Rupp. I've never heard anyone here complain that it's unfair that there are a bunch of bigger schools in the region. I think our boys have an excellent shot next year (as they did this year) and if they do make it, it's going to be great. Much different than the All-A regional title that we've won before. Small schools win their regions all the time. Some really small schools likely would never go no matter even in the All-A. Just the way that it is. Rather than complain go and build a program like Elliott has. They've built two different state tourney teams including one that was a state semi-finalist. They've been the most dominant program in the 16th the last ten years and they're one of the smallest schools. It wasn't easy. Both runs had kids that had played together for years, and were developed through excellent coaching at the youth levels and going out and finding good competition to get better against. In many ways Elliott has an advantage on most 16th schools because they don't have football due to enrollment and lack of interest. Many other small schools fall in this category. However, if they don't, I've always believed that basketball and football compliment each other greatly. Many schools in the state tourney each year verify that belief. No sense in going to classes. We've seen one class work. How many kids in the state would even want to go to 2-4 classes? Doesn't that cheapen it? It's not football. A school like Paintsville while really good, likely would never have the amount of kids to play against Trinity or Male on the gridiron. If they could for one game it's doubtful they could survive a final three rounds of Bowling Green, Highlands and then a Trinity or Male. Basketball takes a max of 15 and most get by playing 8-10 or so.

Don't they have that with the All-A? Buckhorn and Elliott made it and they're really small.

Are the assistants going to find employment elsewhere?

We should want to work for someone that DOESNT support us? I can see not wanting a meddler but I think the admin has to give you the support you need.

I think Mac makes a great one but they're expensive. I've went Dell the last few times and can't complain. They have a computer in any price range you'd want. For what you want you could get a good one at a great price.

Perhaps. Ask most coaches and they probably disagree. I'm a lot better coach when a kid has talent. To me, the true measure of a high school coach includes but is not limited to: -Organizational skills -Fundamentals being taught and executed. (Stance and alignment being a huge indicator) -The impact on your players (do they play hard? Are they growing as people?) -Where do your teams start and where do they finish? Do they get better throughout the year?) Wins and losses and scheme are not always indicative of great coaching or bad coaching. The best coaches can't go to many of the schools in the state and build a power with the talent base on hand and the bad coaches can't go to Trinity and win state championships. In my years of coaching I can't say that I've met a head coach that I didn't think was doing the best that they possibly could. Mullins isn't a bad coach, like some have taken from his record. GC had talent this year and they had a nice season (few plays away from having a great season). They played physical defense and ran to the football. He seemed to be a great fit at GC, hopefully for his sake he's a fit at PLD too.

Valid argument. While the game was at Elliot, they are the defending champ. West, Elliott, Rowan or Boyd are interchangeable.

They don't run many more than 5 but it's definitely more. I would guess they have a few more options in the passing game that they don't usually pull out. But I get your point, high school team doesn't need 40 plays.

Ivan got by with a few plays in his Wing T. Most of us are not that lucky. You're right you can only have so many run blocking schemes though. Still with passes and screens, you're looking at considerably more than 5.
