Football camps

Which universities have the best camps? Is a one day or multiple day camps better?

Always good for kids to go to a camp with some actual action going on. One on ones, throwing, catching, etc.

Just about every school puts them on. Combines are good too.

* University of Cincinnati holds a slew of camps in June with a variety of days and times.

* Ohio University holds a camp at Mason HS in Cincinnati.

Both camps have a good mix of FCS, NAIA, and Div3 coaches in attendance who will pro-actively seek out athletes during if they see a potential fit.

WKU has satellite camps at a few locations...check out their web site to confirm dates and locations.

If you have a long snapper or punter EKU hosts a very good camp for kickers and snappers. Ray Guy has been in attendance and teaching in the past...

I'd say the concept of best camp is all relative to the amount of homework, time, and energy placed in identifying whether a particular school is a good fit for your athlete.

I second Cats3x thoughts. Most all colleges will host a camp at some point and time throughout June-August. Check out their web sites or call the school for info. Good luck and happy camping to you and yours!

What position?

What level do you realistically feel that he can perform at? Could have a big impact on what camp or camps to attend.

D1 of course! LOL! I would say a lower level colleges but he can dream for D1. I have heard at some schools there are coaches for all levels of college watching the camps of that is so that's the ones we want to hit

I would suggest making contact with schools right now that he might be interested in. These camps are great if you have excess money to burn, but to be honest if he is good enough to play collegiately they will find him without going to these camps.

Outside of QB, I think being a D1 RB recruit is as extremely difficult as it gets. At least with many of the other positions it is about measurables (you know if you're a Offensive Tackle and aren't at least 6"5', 280 lbs. you probably aren't getting a D1 offer). As a state we may send less D1 RBs than any other position. It is kind of seen as a position that players really don't grow into, they either have it or they don't. An Offensive Lineman is going to get bigger, stronger and more fundamentally sound in his technique in college. RBs are what they are. Seems like there is the least expected growth from that position in college.

Ohio State has a good camp! There were 50 or more coaches from all types of programs . I recall seeing Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami of Ohio, Central Michigan (MAC schools). Division 2 schools as well. They try to break the kids down buy talent and they group them to compete against each other. Good camp in my opinion!
