  1. He may be waiting to see if anything suddenly comes open in Jefferson County at a somewhat well-known program.
  2. The Bruins will probably get two shots at St.X and then play Trinity in round three. Ballard lost some talent but should fare very well vs Fern Creek, Oldham County, and Eastern. Their schedule should serve them well in preparation for the playoffs in 2013.
  3. We all know Moeller and the Bombers are chopped liver as well. "Delusions of grandeur" appear to be the order of the day.
  4. I can honestly say, the Tigers cannot go 16-0. 5 playoff games and a maximum of 10 regular season games limit your possibilities. I am glad to see the Tiger faithful are excited about football again. With all of the expected offensive prowess, you may need two footballs in play to keep everyone happy.
  5. I believe this weather is worse than state football finals. Thankfully this is indoors.
  6. Louisville St X is a few miles farther away. Brentwood Academy is a little more of a trip. Indy publics? Less "offensive" recenty..
  7. August 23- Home vs. Ballard August 30- Away at Lexington Catholic September 6- Home vs. Bowling Green September 13- Home vs. Fairdale September 20- Away vs. Moeller:eek: September 27- Away vs. Central October 4- Home vs. Trinity at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium  October 11- Home vs. Male October 18- Away at Manual October 25- BYE WEEK November 1- Home vs. Cincinnati St. Xavier  The Guru asked! I see 7 wins and 3 losses in my crystal ball. If the Tigers lose more than 3 in the regular season, the Wolford experiment may be shorter than he predicted.
  8. They are misinformed. A quick review of Trinity's scheduling situaton should be proof enough. The Bombers could have asked for more money than Trinity was willing to pay. It is often not as simple as home and home. Specht hates losing.
  9. The end zone at Bellarmine would have been filled as well as the area opposite in the lower arena by students of both schools. I predict more of the same Wednesday evening. Central will give Trinity more of a test.
  10. Eastern and J-town both lose their coaches and the programs are shells of their former selves.
  11. Anchorage is in Jefferson County. Their children go to several private schools or Manual, Male, or Ballard after 8th grade.
  12. And Bowling Green..... another squad that chose not renew their series with the Rocks.....
  13. The Tigers dropped Doss. They are playing Ballard,LexCath,Fairdale, Central, The Bombers, and Crusaders in non-district action.
  14. The flipside is they kids could be "discouraged" from playing other sports by someone close to the program. That's not to say the head coach or an assistant coach would do this. But, the guy running the AAU team could get "the word" and pass it on to the player. If the player is good enough to make the basketball team and has the desire to play football, he should not be penalized.
  15. It must be Beatty. Trinity's most recent title was earned in 1994 when Mr. Beatty arrived in 2001. He capitalized on a system in place that was geared towards success. The fact he has led the Shamrocks to domination of 4A/6A and the mythical national championship speaks volumes about his drive and his ability to maintain his staff. The revamped Marshall Stadium may have been delayed for years if not for the achievements under Mr. Beatty's reign. Of course, the Marshall family's contributions were paramount to the completion of this project as well as the 1999 opening of the Marshall Center(weight training facility).
  16. Only the Trinity Athletic Director (or is he Director of Athletics?)knows for sure and he is keeping that to himself:irked:!
  17. From Indianapolis Star: New helmet rules The National Federation of State High School Associations has approved rules for next season in an effort to minimize the risk of injury in football. As a follow-up to last year’s rule change that requires a player to sit out one play if their helmet falls off while the ball is live, the NFHS Board of Directors has made it illegal for a player to initiate contact with an opposing player whose helmet has come completely off and made it illegal for a player whose helmet has come off to continue participation beyond the immediate action in which the player is engaged.
