Word on the street is that the 3 schools above will consolidate in the next few years and become part of the Campbell County school district. Then become Campbell Co North High School and use Newport's building and campus.

 

Given that Campbell County doesn't let Brossart use their field, what if Ncc can no longer use Newport? Would they use Bellevue or Dayton? I would think Lawnboy may be able to use some of his old hometown connections to hook them up at Gilligan. Otherwise, i see them down there playing behind the railroad and storage tanks.

The same field. Why would it change? Newport is turf, CC middle school was grass. I could see why they would say no to alllowing BB to use it. Additionally, NCC has been playing there for over 60 years, there was no relationship like that in the south.

What is the time frame on this consolidation taking place? This is the first I've heard of it.

NCC could go to TM if needed but they have a great relation ship with Newport.

G1 ... you need to put some credibility behind this statement. Word on the street could be something overheard at the Mansion Hill laundrymat or it could be something an administrative aid saw in a memo from the state. Can you back your statement up with some credibility?

KDE is ready to take over Newport schools and is begging anyone (specifically Bellevue to take them over and consolidate) Bellevue doesnt want that, but the state may force their hand. Bellevue and Dayton are on the KDE watch list I think as well.

All second hand info, but those are the rumors I'm hearing as well. Its all about under performing and the state watch list. Heard it from several sources. I don't know where they heard it from or when it would happen. Its happening all over the state.
