NOT be the next head coach at Boone County.

NOT be the next head coach at Boone County.

Is that official or just a prediction?

If it's official was it him turning it down or Boone choosing someone else?

If it was Boone choosing someone else, I couldn't think of a bigger mistake so I'm guessing Chuck turned them down.

Official as in the principal from Boone called me? No.

Is he going to be the next head coach at Boone? No.

I thought it would be a tough sell for Chuck to come to Boone unless they offered himm the moon so I'm guessing it was his decision. Sure can't think of a better candidate than him so I'm hoping it wasn't Boone's decision to pass on him.

His choice or the school's?

Essentially, a little of both.

So who are the candidates?

Kyle Niederman is one. Not sure of the other.

You base this on what exactly?

Chuck might want the Lloyd job. Winning 2a titles is easy.

He may be waiting to see if anything suddenly comes open in Jefferson County at a somewhat well-known program.

Smith may have been uncomfortable with the teaching requirements of the Boone job. He's been out of teaching for several years and a lot has changed in that time in what's expected of high school teachers. Standards are very high now. Last thing he taught was Driver's Ed. Boone doesn't even offer that class. I doubt many high schools do.

I once thought the same, but you'd (like I was) be surprised. There is still a good number of schools that have Driver's Ed positions. Now, it might not be a full day schedule of it, (even, though there are those with that, too), but half the day.

Which, not to hijack the thread, but this is one class that should have never been cut out of the curriculum.
