Franklin Co went on to win their game, so Trimble plays Franklin Co in the finals of one bracket and Walton-Verona plays Woodstock in the finals of the other bracket. KY is represented well in Daytona today.

Trimble had been averaging around 55-60 pig until the WV game. IMO, both teams got each other out of their game. Redan scores most of their points off their press, so TC slowed the tempo and tried to keep them in a half court game. Coach Stewart's scouting report was dead on and Redan scored when Trimble got impatient and tried to run.

Friday night final from Bedford. This was a great game. It had a little bit of everything. Both got out of the gate a little slow, but things heated up along the way. Trimble had Clifford in early foul trouble and Black got sick on the court in the first half. Williamstown had some foul trouble down the stretch and had one of their girls out because of sickness. The game was tied after 1 and 3. Trimble had a five point lead at the half. Williamstown had a look at the buzzer that just missed. Scoring: Trimble County: Black 13, Clark 11, Clifford 10, Gonterman 10, Duke 9, Consley 4, Tilley 2 Williamstown: Montgomery 27, Kennedy 20, Taylor 4, Cheek 3, Souder 2.

I don't think people in the know will sleep on this team. They're just not getting the preseason attention of years past. 8th Region coaches will know not to overlook Shelby Co.

I look for North to be much improved this season. They played good ball last season, but couldn't get shots to fall. Looked good over the summer too.

The unfortunate thing for small schools is their success sometimes seems cyclic. They make a run and then fade for several years. It would be nice to see the Owen, Gallatin, Trimble and Williamstown schools be contenders year after year.

Not many will agree with each list 100%. This person got left off and that team isn't high enough. I don't put too much into these. Even after the season is over, people don't agree with lists. Mr. Herndon has done a great job and each person on here makes a great case for their picks that were left off. I'm looking forward to seeing Bowen lead Gallatin and Clifton lead Owen. There are many others that are going to have a say in how the 8th goes this season. I'm ready to buy my popcorn and start watching right now. Good luck to all the teams in the region.

And I thought Dossett was a softball player. Great all around athlete and a pleasure to watch on the court. Now we will see who becomes the best in the region this year. Will it be someone that's already been mentioned or will someone else step up and stand out? I can't wait to see!

Look for Eminence to be improved for a second straight year. Madison Dockter will once again carry the team on her shoulders. I haven't heard otherwise, so I'm guessing Zach Adair is back for his third season as coach. Also, Eminence rejoins the NCKC after a long absence.

I will say this. I have a kid that plays sports and people complain about the band when they're at an event and they complain if the band doesn't show at an event. While I go to sporting events to see the game, I do like the atmosphere the band brings. Now with that said, they do need to refrain from playing during live action.
