He is a good defender, but the St Henry game was a gimmick defense. He only had eyes for the guy he was guarding... he played ZERO help defense. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a fantastic defender, but the reason he is holding the players he is guarding down like that is because its a gimmick defense to take that specific player out of the game.

Yes. From what I heard Boone was up about 20 vs Holy Cross when Jr. Got hurt. Jr has a very, very nice low post game and Newport has no answer for that (and please do not say that Covington would be able to guard him). And he is relentless on the boards.

I respectfully disagree. Junior is a load and makes a huge difference.

Congrats Dixie on a very successful season! I enjoyed every game. And congrats to Drew Moore for setting that record! I don't care who Trinity had in or not, they couldn't stop an amazing play that will be in the record books forever! IMO, Moore was the best player on the field. In fact, if you would have had Moore play QB for T and the other QB play for Dixie, them the score would have even been worse.

I forgot about that one... it not only hit the top of the backboard... it hit the black pole that holds the backboard in place... it bounced off of it! Wow.

Another fun one... Player dribbling up the sideline runs into a defender with one foot out of bounds (taking away the sideline... same could be said on the baseline)... the call should be "illegal defense" -- the defender is in an illegal defensive position if they have a foot out-of-bounds and the guy with the ball makes contact with them. I've never seen it called :(

Other notes: - Schreck could not catch a break... it was almost comical how fast he would be called for a foul as soon as he entered the game... and the calls were so "ticky-tack" all you could do was laugh - Dre is a special player... he will definitely play at the next level... if he played for my team I would want him to play more selfish - Wilson is BIG and very skilled... and he shoots FTs very, very well - Liam Rabe and Austin Schreck need to play more "selfish" on offense... neither one shot nearly enough tonight - Mitch Bolin played his butt off again tonight... watch out when Dixie gets Hedger in there with him... Dixie will clean some glass! - the refs tonight were special... really. Very wierd... I don't think one "blocking call," or "charge" we're called by the official under the basket... every single one (and there were a lot both ways) were called by the official close to half court... I don't think I've ever seen that before - sitting next to Lawnboy is a treat... but not quite as nice of an experience when his better half isn't there... like I said before: Lawnboy out kicked his coverage by a mile when he married her

Dixie taking their lumps early. Dixie mIssed way too many FTs and gave up way too many easy, run out baskets to Campbell. Dixie's halfcourt defense was good when they got back and set up. On offense, I'm not really sure what the coach is thinking by letting JV players shoot more shots than varsity players?

Lol... Trinity fans be like, "Dixie who? We play who for the state championship? (yawn)"

One more note: - there is no such rule as "over the back" -- either the player in front gets "displaced" (pushed) or not... if he is not displaced from the spot he was at, then there is no foul... which leads me to my point... Technically, on a box out, if the guy boxing out "moves" the guy he is boxing out, then it should be a foul just the same as the "push" from behind... but for some reason refs won't call it

Here are 2 that I see refs get wrong quite frequently... 1.) when taking the ball out of bounds, there should never be a "traveling call" if the guy taking the ball out moves his feet. He has about a 3' x 3' box that he has to stay within, but he can "march in place" with no pivot foot while taking the ball out. Although, refs will call the travel call sometimes... which tells me they have not studied the rules. 2.) it is not a "carry" if the dribbler has his hand on top of the ball on a really high dribble... and it is not a carry if the dribbler's hand is on the side of the ball. A carry occurs when the dribbler has his hand under the ball and the ball comes to rest on his hand.

Red Colonels will hopefully keep it respectable this game. Again, its tough to be competitive missing 2 starters.

I saw Bo play AAU all summer... against bigger, better competition... so, I will stand by my prediction with great confidence. He will be a matchup problem for whoever HC tries to put on him. Big night for Bo!

HC will have no answer for Bo... I'm predicting a BIG night from him.
